The ship was pretty much always the same, there was not really any character development going on. The reason why it hit so hard is that OP is a fucking long anime and this allows you to get attached to even smaller things and side characters to a degree which would not be possible otherwise. So when you see the ship burning that has accompanied them through so much and it was also kinda part of your life for some time, then ofc. you get sad.

He knew the condition of Merry before everyone else but try to understand the man feelings. And also Zoro set things right by the end of the arc. I didn't say Usopp was right, what I'm saying is that Usopp was not completely unreasonable. And your saying that everyone knows about Merry condition? Only Usopp knew that Merry was actually alive, this is the main reason because he felt like Luffy had betrayed a nakama who seems useless and he thought of himself to be the next person because he clearly knows that he was no where near as strong and useful compare to the other

@@rfafanai6002 condition. NOt life. About life, Even usopp didn't know... he had only seen twice of Merry's form and had a haunch. I was talking about merry's health. YOu remember the horrible condition it was in when they took it for the repairs right? Sure Usopp fought Luffy because he thought he was abandoning Merry, and it was more out of his self-doubt than for Merry... that's not why I was blaming Usopp here. Its about how he failed to see the big picture even after all the crew talked to him. He clung to a false hope which was detrminal to everyone, even himself.

He doesn't show much emotion but deep down is a very caring person who knows what needs to be done. I just finished the Water Seven Saga on the manga. Reading this part made me cry for sure, but watching it in motion made me cry harder than I ever did while watching any movie or TV show, live action or animated.
