Seeing this video literally hours after I've torn my arms to shreds again because of the mental health team failing me again, leaving me a weekend without support again despite gps asking multipul times not to leave me... fills me with a bit of hope that there are some really good people out there who genuinely care!

Just wanted to say, as a fellow SH sufferer, you are so special and it truly does get better. It still fucking sucks though. Mental health teams suck too, I promise if you keep fighting you will find people who help you

It sucks. I'm sorry you feel alone, but there's an entire community out there in this country that are going through the same thing and support each other. Reach out to friends etc. I've helped myself a lot but building a support team of friends around me and giving myself small goals to achieve throughout the week. I'm going through the same thing with my mental health team. They never contact me unless I call every single day demanding that they talk to me. I have been waiting for fourteen months just to have an assessment in the meantime I'm left isolated at home with a reducing quality of life.

I've been told by tattoo artists that they can't tattoo over scar tissue because it won't hold ink properly. Nice to know they were wrong.

It's more difficult to tattoo over scar tissue but not impossible
@ablacktidedrowning3 жыл бұрын
It depends on the scar. Large keloid scars may not take it too well, depending on their age, as keloid tissue can grow and change. Small old scars like those shown in the vid cover ok if the tattooist is aware of how to deal with them. i've seen some great work covering burns too. My first tattooist told me the same thing as you, nearly 30 years ago, but techniques, materials and knowledge have changed so much. Some of the younger tattooists seem to be far more aware these days.

While i think his intentions are absolutely to be applauded, i am not sure how to think about the whole thing. Regulating what is allowed to be in tattoo ink and what is not has not been around for long. Lot's of cancerogene substances were (and stilll are ) used in tatoo ink. The EU is starting to prohibit the use of some ingredients in a few months i think. And the colours get tested for their ingredients. So on one hand i think his efforts to help people are admirable, on the other hand i am not sure if injecting potential harmfull substances into the skin is a good idea in the long run. (For those who will be commenting that tattoos have been around almost as long as humans: yes, but life expectancy was shorter in the bronze age for example, and the substances that were used from ancient times until the 20th century did not include the same chemicals that are cheaply available today. They didn't have white, green, yellow ect. in the same bright form. -> Natural ink seems not to be among the harmfull substances.)
