My guess is that in the MonsterVerse, Anguirus was once identified as the Tarasque that once encountered St. Martha. Also, Megalon was also identified as the sacred scarab Khepri, Titanosaurus was identified as the Taniwha, and Manda was identified as not just Asian dragons, but also the Ogopogo.
