Taylormade got really lucky with Trottie who was their #1 fitter on tour for over 10 years and also just happens to be super charismatic and because of that he is able to make great content for them….. This feels like Fujikura tried to copy that success by throwing out the youngest fitter they have to seem cool and forced him to give a full sales pitch while Garrett just has a full range session for no reason… The thing that makes trottie great is that he’s actually a great fitter and only needs to see 3-4 shots and then he’ll know what to change or if things shouldn’t be changed at all bc they are as good as they are gonna get. This guy probably couldn’t do that even if he wanted to bc it feels like he had a quota of talking points he was forced to cover. Sad part is, Fujikura makes PHENOMENAL golf shafts and there is a chance the graphite really is as good as they are saying it is but it could not have felt more disingenuous if they tried. Huge L for their marketing team tbh. Just announcing their partnership letting the guys talk about how much they like the shafts naturally would’ve been a 10X better move. In Grats last video he mentioned the shafts and was genuinely intrigued by it but after this video I now question weather it’s all bullshit. Rare L for Good Good as well… I can’t imagine Colin/max edited this video and was proud of it. I’m sure they contractually had to make this video so I’m not gonna hate on them and I’m happy they are getting another huge sponsorship but Colin/Max know content better than anyone so they had to have known this was trash as well. Let’s just get another West Texas video up on the channel tomorrow and forget this ever happened lmao

This is well said. I get the Callaway deal, or any club brand deal. I don't understand the shaft deal. This is incredibly unique. It will be very hard to find players that are paid to play shafts. Yes I know the Bryson stuff with LAGP. The $400 wood shafts and $110 iron shafts are not always the best option for a good majority of golfers. And I would almost guarantee that GG guys are not playing the best combinations for them. This is paid promotion and not a fitting. Not saying these products wouldn't be best for them but this video is the definition of "influencing". Ultimately the point I'm trying to make is that golfers should be open minded when it comes to shafts. Find a fitter that isn't going to push you into a particular shaft because it's expensive. It's highly unlikely that you will be best fit into the absolute newest, most expensive product through the entire set. Which is exactly what we saw in this video

TO WHOM EVER READS THIS FROM GOOD GOOD. I think a good variation to this challenge would be for Brad, Garret and Luke (if he's still relevant) to use (and share) a set old fashioned/antique wooden shaft clubs and equipment, and Stephen, Bubbie and Matt would get to use modern day clubs. Everyone could still use modern golf balls. That would be a very interesting round and a very challenging handicap.

Just to let everyone know, graphite is much more expensive than steel. It feels like the fitters are really trying to push the graphite a little too much. A little disingenuous by them, I doubt the good good boys are trying to help push them since must of them are feel players. Graphite has come a long way and has become a lot more consistent, that’s why max homa plays graphite, they are just a lot more expensive than steel shafts.

Just be wary with your money boys, despite the claims shafts have an extremely limited margin of improvement for 99.99% of golfers, this is where you go when you have exhausted all the main areas of improvement in your game. You can't buy a good shot, it comes from the hard work
@jasonwinslow354310 ай бұрын
I don’t know about this dude. I just went through a fitting and hit 4 shafts at 120g, and 3 and 105g, and there were quite measurable differences, along with my subjective feeling. I am not in 0.01% of golfers. I’m talking differences of center flushing time and again, to looking like it was the first time I picked up a club. You have good advice, but I’d add go and test different heads and shafts if you can, or get fitted… that said, getting fitted is where we also need to be wary. I was fitted into these Axiom shafts, but didn’t want to spend the money for what is basically the cost of 2 sets of irons 😂

Of course a shaft can alter your strike pattern bro, depending on flex and torque, the club is going to kick or release in different areas of your swing and that can drastically change your dynamic lye hence strike point etc.
@marcuscastillo51410 ай бұрын
Sounds like a huge ad they’re paid to do but the group also wouldn’t partner with brands they don’t already like. Fujikura Ventus is already best in the game and Axiom the same in the graphite shaft world. It’s not they’re playing Takomo saying they’re just as good as the top brands at half the cost.
@johnsouza439110 ай бұрын
Are they keeping the head weights the same 105 to 125? That should change frequency therefore shaft flex. You should feel the head more at 105, right?
@iFozzy6210 ай бұрын
Sounds like they are saying with the graphite they have more freedom to keep a similar overall flex in other ways compared to steel that almost always end up stiffer when adding weight. My silly brain trying to rationalize it is thinking they add helium in the open center of the shaft to get it down to 105g lol. Just something that wouldn't effect the structural integrity of the material. But yes you should be able to have more feel with the lighter shaft. It a lot of info to take in and I'm in the middle of swapping out really light weight KBS iron shafts that launch my ball to the moon, for DG S300's that I've used for 2 decades because they promote a low ball flight. It's tricky once I learned that swing weights can get really out of wack when doing it.

Now I do not dislike these guys, it has become obvious, watching their videos, that they don't have fresh ideas of their own. Both of them, despite the fact that they would never admit it, are trying hard to go "against" Good Good. Ex: The Good Good guys got fitted at Calloway, so Grant HAD to post a video to show he got fitted at Taylor Made! It used to be Garrett and Grant. Now they team up; Grant and Micah. That is quite obvious! That they both want badly to be "higher" than Good Good is also obvious. But neither will make it.
