Independence is a purpose and a call to those who stand by and stand up for the principles this country was founded on. For those who know the burden of carrying their own cross, we are forever grateful. We too have carried the flag. We understand that one day we may be draped in it should we fall for what we love. The American flag sits on the backs of our warfighters as a reminder that when the ultimate sacrifice is made, it ushers you home.

I was wondering who in the gun community would be 1st to address this. Glad to see it is a fellow Marine. Semper Fidelis brother. WE have work to do. And that doesn't mean talking or hoping for a lawsuit to go our way or buying coffee, or buying don't tread on me flags/bumper stickers or going to a trump rally, etc. It means, first, understanding who the enemy is. That is a huge problem. I know and with likeminded could fix this in a couple days.

I felt this. I remember talking to my niece when she was 12 about what things were like in Iraq (her dad served there) and how women/people in general live and are treated. She asked, "What about their rights?" All I could tell her is other countries don't have a lot of the rights we do, that's what makes America special. That seemed to resonate with her. I want her to see America as I did growing up. For that to happen some restoration needs to take place.

There must be something worthwhile motivating people to come here.

Freedom is not virtuous in and of itself. Freedom without morality merely permissiveness. That is what we have devolved into, and that is what the Founders warned us against. Virtue is the first principle in this equation. Without virtue, Liberty will simply enslave us to our desires, and there is no purpose to be found in that.
@brucekendall9873

There's also different meanings to freedom. And implications that come with it. We talked about this in philosophy and ethics 101. Total freedom, without laws can also not be freedom. Without laws there are people that can go out of their way to cause you danger or threaten you, therefore limiting your freedom to live, and exist safely. So you're not free then. That is just one example of all the complexities and different ideas of freedom we have around the world. There's workers freedom, financial freedom, freedom of speech, freedom to work the job you want or do the things you desire without starving etc. Which leads into more Marxist thought about freedom. It becomes more complicated. How about corporate freedom and all that implies? How do some "freedoms" possibly lead to a lack of freedom elsewhere. And who has the power to lobby politicians and incorporate their ideas of freedom over everyone elses?

@@paulc1173 I'm from the Netherlands. And I meant that people in this country that say things that are somewhat like what Travis says are complete right wing idiots, and the people that oppose them are left wing idiots. We miss a middle ground that makes sense like what he says in this video
@jeffersondaviszombie2734
@jeffersondaviszombie2734 2 жыл бұрын
@@I.G_NL You decry the fact that people don't talk like this anymore (in fact, they don't think like this anymore) but then you immediately go and call all those that do talk like this as being far right. Have you ever considered that only those you label as far right think like this? You need to sit and think about what matters to you more: do you like this outlook on life more than what others say, or does it matter for you more the labels that your mainstream media place on people? Because you can't have it both ways. I think the EU is in a bad place and it is heading towards something even worse. And the only way back from oblivion is people talking like this. If you don't like them, I hope you'll enjoy the abyss in which the "right thinkers" are leading the EU.
@I.G_NL
@I.G_NL 2 жыл бұрын
@@jeffersondaviszombie2734 well I definitely won't enjoy the abyss. And I didn't phrase my comment correctly. I meant that this message itself isn't far right, nor is Travis probably. But that people who say things vaguely similar to this in Europe have opinions on things like refugees and multiculturalism that are extremely far right, so I can only agree with a certain part of their arguments, same goes for the left btw. Also political parties don't speak as well as Travis does in this video

So if you are reading this, ask yourself this: Am I sure I am on the right side of history? Does my oath match my actions? Take a step back and think, and I mean really think, about your political stances. Is your allegiance to the constitution, or a man?

Freedom and liberty are a Biblical concept that come from rules and regulation (God's Laws), read what is engraved on the liberty bell: [Lev 25:10 NKJV] 10 'And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout [all] the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you shall return to his family. The farther we drift from God's word, the worse off we become, lets get back to our foundation, the Bible... THAT - is the best idea...
