I always enjoy your videos Dale. You actually have a very soothing voice. I am keeping you in prayer for your knee. I'm actually having a total knee replacement done on June 20th and am extremely nervous for it. I have every confidence in my Dr but am in no way looking forward to the recovery after. I had the arthroscopic surgery to "clean it up" prior but like you my pain kept getting worse. My X-ray showed I'm complete bone on bone on most of it but what isn't is completely detached! As for the MRI...I too am claustrophobic and have to have what's called an "Open MRI." If that's what they do for you, your head won't have to be in the tube. (Not really a tube like regular MRI though because it's open on all sides but still sits close to your face.) They'll just likely put you in up to about your shoulders, if that far. Assuming it's the same thing and having worked in healthcare 23 years I'm betting it is. Most folks can handle it fine since they're heads are outside the machine. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! 😊 As for the flea beetle...I had an issue last year and I found a recipe from the University of Minnesota and The Ohio State University that worked pretty good for me... Try this homemade spray to control flea beetles: 2 parts rubbing alcohol, 5 parts water, and 1 tablespoon liquid soap. Spray the mixture on the foliage of garden plants that are susceptible to these pests. Dusting your plants with plain talcum powder repels flea beetles on tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, and other plants. I did have to check each leaf everyday for about a week to make sure I got any eggs that may have emerged and I just picked them off or shook them off and kept the leaves dusted with talc and it worked. If I have the problem again this year I'll do the same. Not sure any of my blubbering will help in your area but I still thought I'd let ya know. Sorry this was so long. Please take care of yourself and I'll cya on the next video. God Bless. ~Lisa

I loved every minute of this video, and yes I watched to the end, like I always do. The tree at the end was gorgeous regardless of it not growing fruit, it at least pollinates the other tree. I bet that is gorgeous when in full bloom. You always have so many vegetables I have never tried, but I have to try things I have never planted before just so I can have my normal foods like potatoes. It's one I HAVE to plant, and with this crazy weather we have had, I have no idea if they will even do very well, but I do have some sweet potato backups that I know will grow well. I've never grown beets either, and I love them, so I may put in a few of those just as a test. Your chickens were having a good time in this video, they must have been talking about the nice weather that you guys are finally getting. Hope your knee is doing better, and please let us know when you find out more about any more testing you get done. I'm glad to hear you won't need a replacement, it's a long process to get out of pain from any knee problems. Because your so active, I really believe that you will heal very well in time, and even faster than many. See that, Angel has got you walking and making you strong. She is indeed an angel in many ways. I've really enjoyed this video, it was nice to see things growing and the sun shining at your home again, I've missed it. Bless, Sheila

Thank you Sheila. That was the same tree behind me in the KZbin complaint video. My purple plum doesn't have a lot of flowers this spring but there shouldn't be a problem getting them pollinated. I think the hens were bragging about the wonderful egg they just laid LOL. Some of them are six years old now and took the winter off but are laying again now that spring is here.

Great update Dale. I'm having problems with flea beetle too - mostly on mustard greens and mizunna. Netting with insect mesh seems to help, and also I read, but haven't tried, does dusting with talcum powder! Sorry to hear that you knee is still giving you problems, and hope you get some progress with the MRI and treatment. You've got a lot going on with the garden this year, I hope you have a successful growing season. Will check out your Facebook page.

Thank you Alan. The beetles are eating holes in my Daikon Radish leaves but not enough to cause a real problem. I never had them before until last year, climate change maybe.

I hate tinning also, seems like such a waste doesn't it? Hope your knee gets better soon Dale! Musk mallow do reseed them selves but not aggressively, young leaves and flowers are good in salads, medicinal plant also, really soothing. I do have facebook and listened to the end lol

Good Update Dale lots going on as usual. I hope you can do the MRI, they would have to put me to sleep to go in that thing, I have the same phobia. I can do a Cat scan but not MRI. It is about time they developed a hand scanner that shows what is wrong LOL. We had two 80+ degree days now we are back to 50's and 40's at night. A summer tease. I hope your Fig tree gets stronger. The Tom Temperature info is useful not below 8 degrees.Have a great weekend. Cheers. :-)

I was in an MRI once for about 30 seconds LOL. Hope I can do this if my head isn't in it. When I first hurt this knee I was in Italy and saw a surgeon there who told me they have an MRI that just goes over your leg, 10 years later and we still don't have that. We had two hot days too and tonight it is cooling off.

Flea Beetle. Take two BULBS of garlic- i.e. not cloves- crush them and boil in 2 pints of water for 3 to 4 minutes. Strain the mixture and make back up to 2 pints. Leave to cool.Mix one tablespoonful in 5 litres of water and spray on leaves in late afternoon of a dry day. Reapply at least once a fortnight. I use it in the polytunnel (hoop house) and spray weekly. Also works as a slug deterrent here, Central Scotland. If problem persists double to 2 tablespoons in 5 litres. Good luck.

Hope they sort your knee out i know what thats like. That corn germinates really well I hope it tastes as good as it germinates. I have to do a 2nd planting now. If you find out how to deal with flea beetle let me know they do a lot of damage here to the radish in particular, The ones here must be very small as I dont see them just the damage..No plumbs again this year for me that cold snap we had saw to that fingers crossed for next year.

Thank you Dave. I just had this comment on the Flea Beetles : "Try this homemade spray to control flea beetles: 2 parts rubbing alcohol, 5 parts water, and 1 tablespoon liquid soap. Spray the mixture on the foliage of garden plants that are susceptible to these pests. Dusting your plants with plain talcum powder repels flea beetles on tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, and other plants. If I have the problem again this year I'll do the same." Might be worth a try. My plums are a concern right now too we had two very hot days and all three trees are in full bloom, now we have a frost warning for tonight. It went to 7 last night. Sometimes we avoid these late frost because the relatively warm water in the bay keeps it away from here, fingers crossed.

Thank you yes, the knee problem has been solved several years ago. I don’t really remember how I started the good king Henry, but I likely started it in the house under lights. I do that with a lot of my garden plants and whatever.
