When I was in college I remember one of the theater majors talking about how she wanted tattoos, but couldn't because of her career choice. My favorite quote from that conversation was her saying something like, "unless I get a tattoo on the inside of my vagina, it'll be no tattoos for me."

I remember seeing the wicked uk tour and Aaron Sidwell (I think) who played Fiero had an American idiot tattoo and it wasn’t covered I love that it made Green Day cannon in the Wicked universe.

A friend of mine was understudying at the Stratford Festival. He got called twenty minutes before a half hour call that he needed to come in, he was on, and they needed to shave his head. Which they did but Stratford is a rep theatre company. I looked up the show report when I worked there. It read “Please inform the SMs of *his two other shows* we have shaved Mr. Ham’s head and he will require a wig”

I ended up dyeing my hair black because I also played Wednesday last December and it was honestly one of the best decisions I've made. I had never dyed my hair before and had light brown hair before it, so it was a big change for me. Also, I dyed it the day before opening because I had my year 12 formal and a dance concert the weekend before, so it was a tight squeeze. But overall, I loved how it turned out and I am soo desperate to dye it again when this is all over :)

that’s so exciting!! when i was wednesday i had a wig with plaits as i had light brown hair but i have recently dyed my hair really dark brown now anyways and i love it!

It's interesting with tattoos in film and tv though because although it is a bother for the actor in that they have to come in early and sit down to get them covered, the makeup specialists then have to start their already long days sometimes even two hours earlier or more and that's just brutal. So I think if you want to go into screen acting as well, there's another layer of thought that might go into it. :)

Unfortunately I understand the haircut thing only from the fact that I was in a controlling relationship for 2 years and had to keep it long. And every time I did get it cut I immediately had to send him a picture of it.

I always said if I didn't want to be an actor I'd be covered in tattoos. I've already got 6 (all but two are small) and I've recently come to the realisation I'm more interested in being a playwright than an actor. So... Oops. I hope my tattoo artist knows they are going to make an absolute killing once lockdown is over 😂

I held off on tattoos when I dreamed of acting. Then I convinced myself that I needed to grow up and let go of theater. I got a couple of tats but I will learn how to cover them to get back to the stage.

I’m covered in tattoos because I was Never allowed to go to drama school so I made the choice that I was going to try and make it as a solo singer.. but I’d love to go into music theatre, it’s a huge dream of mine but I feel like I’d stand no chance because of the tattoos.. and I’m super unfit too and can’t dance. Do you have any advice? Am I screwed? lol
