Good News for Alienated People

As Paul wrote to the church in Ephesus, he implored believers to remember that before they were united with Christ, they were without hope and without God. Like the Ephesians, when we remember all that Christ has accomplished on our behalf, we can look to the future with confidence, knowing our citizenship is found in Christ’s work, not in anything we have done. Remembering that we were once far off, and have been brought near-hopeless without Christ-should fill us with humility, gratitude, and joy, and enable us to pursue peace and reconciliation with one another.
