I watched this evening four months ago as Pastor Begg and the team at Parkside have been such a steady Biblical presence in my life. Tonight as I rewatched it from four months out and what has occurred during that time and heard the prayers for he and Susan against the black clouds and the protection from the attacks of the evil one that may come into their lives, I don't feel any one could have foreseen how fierce those attacks would be and yet I've seen that through it all that Alistair's teaching has become more passionate and more eager for the unsaved to come to know the Lord he loves so very much and for all God's redeemed children to fully understand the depth of and power of God's love for us. His heart is settled and at peace with the Lord no matter the battle scars he wears. “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honour him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” - Psalm 91

Someone born into a Christian family wouldn't understand the stranglehold that satan has on his (property), even as they come to believe, still the literal strength required to take a first step can be as overwhelming as stepping off a cliff to the death of the only life they have ever known. Sometimes what is needed is an in their face confrontation, asking point blank do you want to come to Jesus. Many would honestly respond '" I'm afraid ". Hoping for, wanting and dreading all at once. Great job Pastor Begg!

I’ve met you a couple of times. Once in Keswick, where you signed my book just before I heard that I might be going into ministry, once 5 years later where I cried out from your pews asking for help as I was alone in ministry, lost and in need of help; working 16-18 hours a day every day, from grass cutting, roof repairs, children clubs, preaching and advising and mentoring 100 odd people while my senior pastor abandoned me on sabbatical. You didn’t hear my cries, you never heard the life I was saved from by your ministry .. I was actually quoted once on the truth for life cd: George Round from Gravesend, England. You mocked me along with rico tice, and my abusive father spoke after me some lunacy which you didn’t stop to consider I was in need of help with.. and then we met in London a few months later at the gospel light conference next to Westminster abbey. I have struggled to listen to you for these past 6-7years since then… until I saw all this controversy recently. And now tonight, I heard your response to all of that - and you have finally said something I’ve been waiting nearly 20 years to hear from mainstream Christians. “It is by grace you are saved, not of works so that no one may boast”. Someone once said that you have to stoop to get into heaven - well, I commend you and encourage you to be taken down as far as you can on the side of compassion for that is the only entrance into Heaven, and I am so happy to hear this message from you. Ive been saved from a life of crime, violence and brokenness, by living with a heart broken which came about by Gods message, of Gods love, through Gods servant - Alistair Begg at parkside church, the congregation who serve and support there, and by all those who are unsung, silent and unknown heroes in the TruthForLife ministry work. Keep your cigarettes and keep your compassion.

Aweful accompaniment using Guitars on traditional carols. It just doesn’t work!

I totally disagree

Silent Night is traditionally accompanied by a guitar, just as it was, the first time as it was played. It is the message of the carol that is the main thing.

Congratulations to you all; Alistair, Susan, and the congregation at Parkside, celebrating 40 years of dedicated service to our Lord! I've been so blessed to follow the teaching of Alistair for several years and to also support Truth for Life Ministry as God has allowed. It's been said "to never meet your heros". I'm not convinced that's true. I had the very unexpected experience of meeting Alistair (as he instructed me to address him) at the Walmart in Oberlin of all places! A completely random meeting as I recognized him while I was waiting for the pharmacy to open and he made a brief stop after quickly needing nail clippers....such a chance encounter!! Alistair was so gracious and kind while tolerating my intrusion into his day. He even took the time to stand with me for a couple of pictures!! Pictures I have proudly shared with others familiar with his teaching and ministry! What a blessing and inspiration Alistair has been over these years.May God continually bless you, your family, and your ministry dear Alistair.
