It's good news for Boeing for the first time in a while as the planemaker has the backing of United Airlines and its CEO Scott Kirby who recently met with the newly appointed Boeing CEO of Kelly Ortberg to discuss the future.

The most important part of running any business is understanding accounting. “ It’s like being in a foreign country and you don’t speak the language if you’re in business and you don’t know accounting… you want to know it like you know english” - WB “Accounting can offer you a lot of insight into the character of the management, there has been a lot of ‘creative’ accounting… at the expense of the public” - WB

The bolts on the Alaska flight were not lose they were never installed. How this happened remains to be explained. At least this was a human error and not a mechanical failure. Not to say that if someone got sucked out of that plane it would diminish the tragedy. 8/24
@user-yt198
@user-yt198 21 күн бұрын
He is talking about other MAX9s, not the accident aircraft. Loose bolts were discovered in some other aircraft as well. This proves that it was NOT a one time human error. Plus Boeing recently decided (maybe forced?) to redesign the door plug, showing a poor design, if not a design flaw.

I think this is a great management change. Calhoun came in at the bottom and really had the opportunity to be a hero and really didn't accomplish much. The Alaska door blow out was a one off, should never have happened. Taking Spirit back under the umbrella is positive though expensive. Spinning it off was probably a grave mistake in the first place. They need to suck it up and knock it out of the park with a MOM product. Wouldn't be the first time they've taken a big swing...

Boeing must get back up and start to get quality and reliability back into its culture. Toyota may show Boeing an example. Toyota just keeps improving its current model in engineering and reliability, they don't race like most to bring out new models, just keep improving the one they have. Boeing should however be at same time work on a new airplane series.

I think Boeing and its Board have completely lost their way. The MAX issue began because Boeing had a panic attack over the new Airbus A321 NEO and rushed to get the MAX into the air....we saw the results. Now...they are worried about the natural replacement for the 757 - the Airbus A321XLR, and are scrambling to try to get the MAX-10 and the 777X into the air. For the last decade...Boeing have been REACTING To Airbus. Calhoun removed the NMA Project for at least a decade. Big mistake. Boeing should STOP Worrying about Airbus and get back to designing and making great aircraft. SACK the Penny-counters in charge for a start and put Engineers back where they should be: LEADING the company. PANDERING to Shareholders has sunk Boeing. WHY Won't companies in the US EVER learn their lesson??

Boeing's Board needs to make a statement: "We support the new CEO and will pause all profits to shareholders for the next 36 months so it can be invested to right the ship." Also Boeing needs this tmp motto: Boeing: Returning to Engineering Excellance.

I new Boeing CEO will not forgive Boeing for the murder of 346 people and the PTSD inflicted on the passengers of Alaska Airlines Flight 1282. All the corporate criminals have quit or got fired from Boeing with multimillion dollar golden parachutes. No one was taken to prison because of Boeing’s scandals. This will not give justice to those whom suffered under the Boeing Board of Directors, Dennis Muilenburg, or David Calhoun. I hope Boeing’s Board of Directors is forced to speak to the victims of Boeing’s MCAS scandal and allow their new CEO to put safety above stock price. Also give their unions and employees bonuses as well since they had to take Boeing’s trash for decades.
