For the many who are new to Methodism, please would you define acronyms such as “IRD” and others? Thank you for consideration of this request.

You're good to remind me that many who listen to me are not denominational insiders! Thank you. In this case, IRD stands for the Institute for Religion and Democracy. I think I explained somewhere in this piece that they are based out of Washington DC. Anyway, I'll try and be mindful about the use of acronyms! Thank you.

@ I appreciate your reply. Thanks. I was confirmed Methodist at the age of 12 in 1968, so I’m on board with acronyms. At least where I live, many new people are joining the GMC and are new to the initials and Wesleyan theology. Your site,as well as others like Seedbed, help not only newbies to Methodism, but old timers like me to ensure a solid foundation and to have great, accessible resources.
