Happy New Year! It's just fried cabbage!
I chopped and fried 2 strips of bacon. Get it super crispy and render the fat down pretty good. Pull the bacon crisps (leave the grease) - it's bad but it's so good..... sorry not sorry.
salt and pepper to taste
Cut the head (or half head) of cabbage into your desired size chunks and drop into the skillet.
Add a dash of worcestershire and/or soy sauce if you want to!
Scrape up the fond as you fry the cabbage. You can cover it in between stirrings to let it steam a bit and soften a bit quicker.
It's done when you say it's done but I like to get some burnt charry bits in there and then I add the crispy bacon back into the mix.
