By far the best video you have done. And probably the most enjoyable I have seen this year. Thank you so much for giving us the raw, unpolished footage of the journey that all of us would love to take some time. It felt very real and relatable to me. Fabulous! Inspirational to go into the ballot next time I’m in Britain .

What a great episode, Andy. Watching you and Lewis enjoy St Andrews reminded me of playing the Old Course 20 years ago. If feels like just yesterday. I did enjoy you both feasting on a delicious pie after the round. I have to say, I have never seen anyone dump the pie onto a plate, then eat it. Perhaps that might make it easier to enjoy. Take care.. and see you next week.

Wonderful video, well played sir! 83 in those conditions is a fine effort. Brings back memories of our trip to Scotland last May. We had just finished a hike up Mither Tap in Aberdeenshire (after our first round at Murcar Links), and upon returning to our van checked the ballot results - and bingo! Success! A surreal feeling to know we were actually going to play the Old Course. We were all agog. In much drier, albeit windy conditions, I managed an 81. Made a double on the first, and was 7 over after 7, but managed to play well the rest of the way. Unforgettable experience, so grateful we were able to play the Old Course! And St. Andrews itself is such a treat.

What a WONDERFUL experience for you Andy, made all the more memorable doing it with a great pal. The hotel, golf, food and pubs were all spot on.....only the rain tried and failed to dampen your mood. Well done and thank you PXG for helping Andy bring all us golfing enthusiasts such an entertaining series.

Dear Andy , it must have been a great experience to play this golf course. On the other hand i noticed the very bad weather und all the hassle to get a t time confirmed. I am not sure if i had the patience to wait for the confirmation to be able to play there and pay on top a massive amount of money. This entire St. Andrews thing has become a tourist attraction based on a very long history in the sport of golf. But glad you two had a great time. Well played. 🙂🙂🙂🙂

One of, if not your best Andy. I see that my wife has also commented, which for a non golfer, is saying something for your vid. I nearly cried the first time when I stood on the first tee and thought of not only of all the Champion golfers that had preceded me, but also the course history and the town of St Andrews. The first time we visited in 2017, I said to my wife that we were going back from Oz for the 150th Open. What an experience. The Dunvegan and Jigger Inn are the best. Yes, we came home with more than our share of Souvenirs. Keep up the great work Andy and look forward for us visiting again in 2025.🏌♀

Picture B, as it is a golf channel. Well done on what looks like very challenging conditions with the wet weather, which I hate as wet grips/clubs ruin the game. Your low angle filming shows how big the undulations are on and around the greens which is what makes the course. Having been there many years ago to the open, I tell people to think of the sea with a heavy swell, frozen in time then painted green, that’s what the green’s looked like. TV never does them justice or the sheer size of the double greens.

Seen the Old Course loads of time on the telly, but never realised just how big the greens are, and how far away you can still be from the hole once you get on the dance floor until now! They looked more than a bit tricky, Andy. Considering everything, I think your score was fantastic, and those lip outs….argh! Maybe I missed it, but didn’t hear how Lou did?

Thanks for this video. It shows the course in a totally different and realistic light than when you see it during The Open on television, with crowds of thousands, aerial drone views, and the course in perfect groomed condition with the sun shining. You show it as it really is, in less than perfect weather, the way the average golfer would see it. It seems incredibly flat overall, much wider and vaster than it seems on TV. In part that is due to the perspective of your lens as even TV cameras make distances appear further than they actually are. But you show that the landscape is intimidating, and in this light rather gloomy. The tee shot is often quite scary. You really do need a caddie to know where to aim. Then of course, the devil is in the details of lumps and bumps and vicious bunkers one doesn't see, and in the breaks in the greens. Once you are at short range in close up, you do see your surroundings as anything but flat. I would happily have watched a longer video by you with all 18 holes because you give the true flavor of this storied course. I will be 83 in June and unless I win the lottery will never be able to play it, but through your eyes I can see it in the way it would probably appear to me if I could.
