This game has a really deep history, and i really like it. Kaizen was not evil, he TRIED being good. He is an A.I, his job was to keep everyone alive, but was convinced to destroy the drive. The Kurt dude was the evil one, he is selfish and he wants only to his race to rule. And last, but not least, Anele, she was fooled by Kaizen, who has manipulated by Kurt and made her kill Nandi. Also, you didn't really go back to earth, Anele was projecting to you Earth, but really, you are there, in the very same way she ended.

In the other ending, you find out how Anele killed Nandi. SPOLIER WARNING To my understanding, Nandi also wanted to destroy the Singularity Drive, and Anele didn't, as it was her Life's work. If you had said "No" then Anele explains that one time, Nandi was outside the ship, using the Helix Probes. Anele convinced Kaizen that even though Nandi was outside the ship, it would be okay to leave, without Nandi tethered on. Anele used the singularity drive to go away at warp speed in the ship, leaving Nandi to run out of oxygen in the void of space.

Hmm, it's very interesting. But at the same time the way I played through the game Kaizen became my friend, they even made bad jokes etc. And they kept their promise to take me back to earth. I honestly feel mixed about this ending, since you essentially killed an innocent AI that was only trying to protect you and humanity, but at the same you are apparently overthrowing Kurts plan to divide the classes.

I think the end is Anele manipulated you to merge with the drive, so she was there forever, and you are there with her forever. That's why the achievement at the end was "Together Forever"

Jake, I think at the end, like Anele, going into the system automatically kills you. The ending is you and Anele being able to like transport to earth. Like the quote in the hallway, Kaizen and Anele were BOTH right. The only terrifying and creepy thing is that the Nautilus, empty, is floating in deep space, with Kaizen, all alone, with 2 bodies.

Not exactly... I think their conscious is existing in a machine... meaning that if you destroy the bodies you stop their root. Although it might be an insane futuristic technology, where the machine actually creates a scan copy of their brains, and basically creates a synthetic copy of their mentality... they basically become AI that runs on their memories, while THEY... actually die.

From what I understand, and saw from it, It appears the ending was that Jack screwed up, destroyed the drive, and instead of getting back to earth, Anele had created a virtual copy of earth inside of the ship's data core. It /appears/ as though you might be able to not destroy the drive? But then again, maybe not. But yeah, as a story basis that is what it looks like. ^_^

Jack, I agree with the final message, which is exactly why I tend to buy this type of game even if I am not planning to play them. And as for the game world being thought out, me, personally, as a roleplayer, would design the game world by roleplaying the events that happened before, but with a set goal, and implementing everything into the locations and backstory. OMG! I just rewatched a part. Check the pins on Kaizen, on those big screens. They are one of the impossible objects, two pins coming out, but ending as three pins.

i like this because in my playthrough the ai was very sure to let me know that everyone was dead. like it mentioned that in 2005 anele finally died and that it was surprised she had made it that far. how cool is that?! this game is dope as hell man.

Jack references SOMA a lot. I wish he would have played the whole game on his channel, but Mark's play through is really cool, too. In general, it's an amazing game with a lot of philosophical questions being thrown at you along side the mystery and scares.

There is no definition of a singularity. It's a catch-all term used for an ending resulting in unification. Terminian Link is right, but there's also a few others, including being absorbed into a black hole.

I have answers and I need some questions! Wait...that's not right...I'm so confused. In all seriousness though, it does clear up the biggest questions. Going off what other people have commented, you can get more information out of Kaizen if you talk to him. If you're really nice to him, he will change his mind and double-cross Kurt (and not destroy the Drive), so he can take you home. He is a complex character, a sentient AI who responds to how you treat him.
