Like i work at a gas station, when we throw away the donuts that didnt sell at night we arent supposed to give them away, for a while i did, until i had people come in 3 or 4 hours before the time we discard donuts asking for all of them, and hey can i get some sandwiches too while im at it? My partner owned a restaurant throughout the pandemic and this stuff would happen literally every other day. It's a shame because you eventually just stop helping people because they just keep coming back to take advantage of you and your customers :( he closed the restaurant because of how bad it was and also the fact that he was literally putting himself in physical danger all the time by people assaulting individuals just trying to enjoy dinner. The stress took over him because, while it is good to help people, some people will take advantage of that and eventually break you down over time. He's helping people in other ways now through being a part of veteran groups and that kind of stuff, but it's just such a shame how we have to rely on business owners to protect the public rather than actual government or other resources.
