We often take things for granted in life but when tragedy happens and strangers go out of their way to save others, you have to recognized who the real heroes are. Not superman, or Wonder Woman, but these average men and women going out of their element to save those in need. FEMA and other emergency rescues will do their job, but it takes the power of their own population to make a difference. Good stuff.

In Canada, there are lots of stores asking for donations for the Red Cross to be added to our purchases ... Alberta, Canada is known as "The Texas of the North" because we're very similar to Texas, lots of ranches, farms and oil. I can say that as devastating as this is, I'm glad to see how much better this disaster is being handled than Katrina was handled. Our hearts are with Texans during this time
@khatarootube7 жыл бұрын
Thank goodness! It shows that lessons were learned and history didn't repeat itself as with Katrina. Animals were kept with their families and strangers helping strangers. In the midst of all this strife, it warms my heart to see humanity pulling together for the greater good. Bless everyone who gave a helping hand.

I remember that whole experience. I lived in a first floor of a apartment but the thing is that me, my mom and my dog were if Louisiana for family during the hurricane, after the hurricane we rushed home and everything was destroyed. We were homeless. We lived in a hotel for about 4-5 months looking for a house. I was in 5th grade. It wasn’t fun coming back from school and going to a hotel as a “home” everything is fine now, we have a house and everything is fine.

As a Texan, hearing "the republic of Texas" made me laugh and cringe at the same time. During this turbulent time, let's be American before Texan sir. Only then can we understand the pain that other Americans go through when they face difficult times. Don't fall into the myopic mindset of Ted Cruz, who showed emotional depravity toward hurricane Sandy victims.
@Texas512forever7 жыл бұрын
youre not a Texan, not by birth anyways.
@CC-sz9ze7 жыл бұрын
Lol, and you get that from my comment? Just because I have the conscience to put aside my Texan identity and try to mend the fissures of our divided country makes me not born in Texas? It's just the opposite. Don't forget it's Ted Cruz who wasn't born in Texas and look at what he's doing. True Texans try to better Texas, not make it into a place that turns its back against the poor and suffering except when a major disaster strikes. I'm an old Texan to remember what real Texans are like, not like your juvenile hodgepodge diluted Texan identity apparent in your comment.

I can attest to there being entire societies, forced into division *globally* but especially in the middle east and the west. I don't know what or when, but I think it's clear something big lays in our near future which may decide the fate of many billions of people worldwide. Divided we fall, United we stand! And we will take nothing less than our destiny back into our own hands, out of the hands of depraved old greedy men who represent the absolute worst of corporate and capitalist and communist greed along with the military industrial complex that has for more than a century fabricated wars into existence for pure and simple profit. Red for Green. Unite under the one banner of being human- nothing more or less, no matter what the opinion makers like Alex Jones or Hillary Clinton or Ted Cruz or DT say.... Money, fame, position, the competitive economic & social mentality that is supposedly "good" for us; they're all bullshit socio-economical constructs that are designed to dilute our morals, hopes, intelligence and even our sanity by drowning us in meaningless materialism and shallow brief moments of happiness. Have you ever wondered why it is that no matter who gets in office, the poor stay poor, the rich stay rich and the ultra-rich, or ultra-elite, remain in control of the scheme? The game is rigged. Next time you judge someone as "not Texan" or some other irrelevant artificial label that really says very little to any rational individual, how about you look at the 99% similarity that you both share instead of the tiny differences that you're homing onto like a sidewinder. I really hope that this age of ignorance and fear and hatred and division will join the dark ages & inquisitions as very dark chapters in our history... If we don't blow ourselves up that is.
