FueledByDoritos if you think about it, Jimmie Johnson's reign of terror really ruined a lot of drivers' primes. Basically prevented guys like Edwards, Hamlin, and Junior from winning titles since he dominated. Harvick almost fell victim to that until he left RCR and won his title at SHR

@@IanPerez1227_YT exactly! I think the reason why though is because, 1. the racing was better (from what I remember) and 2. because of the drivers that were a part of that years version of the "Big 3" (with the exception of Kyle Busch).

@@IanPerez1227_YT I liked the COTs as well, only part I didn't like was that big ass wing they had, but luckily they changed that in 2010. I liked the early versions of Gen 6, but once they started lowering Hp with tapered spacers and chopping the spoiler off more and more, I can't stand these cars (the way they drive at least).

@@tylercole273 No, Carl Edwards got down to the point of it all and after that hard crash he was like at what cost do I need to do this? To me Carl did everything he could to win a title and he was a championship driver, I mean he tied in 2011. He just didn't win the title and on the full season points he would have won the 2011 title.

To be honest, I missed the 2007-2010 style of racing, seemed very intense. I understood them removing the wing to avoid serious wrecks, but I feel like after NASCAR removed it, the racing become less intense. It was also more noticeable as well, seemed like tracks were absolutely sold out. It's pretty evident at the 1.5 mile tracks such as Atlanta or Texas, where did NASCAR go so wrong?

I was and am a Gordon fan but I loved Carl. He was cheated out of at least 2 Championships IMHO. 😠 I miss him.

Carl was the best driver in 2008. He had the most wins, most top 5s, most top 10s, best average finish, and was very strong in the chase. Jimmie was just a tad stronger than him during the chase but Carl was just a little better than him throughout the entire year.
