Byron would not have won the title with a different format, and had he advanced into the Round of 4, who knows if he still wins. So I don't get this mindset. I hate Sauter but he's the actual winner, get over it.

Thing is, you can't really make a judgement because with no chase, it's a different atmosphere, different pressure, and different mindset, so who really knows who could've won the title if we restarted the entire season with no chase.

Texas was a bit strategy, yes. Bristol, he just passed people, and benefited from Larson and Truex speeding on pit road. So he won that one. And then Dover he also won on pace. So those are all strategy based?

It's a shame that Byron lost out on what would've been a well deserved championship, but that we also lost the possibility of having a modern day iteration of the #3 and #24 rivarly with Byron and Dillon competiting to be the sports first champion in all three series, which would've undoubtably been great marketing material for the sport.

So I watched the 2015 season after the Coke 600 and watched a lot of the races I missed over the summer.(Indy At NOLA Motorsports actually got me into Motorsports) I then watched the first two races of the 2016 season and completely forgot about NASCAR till Homestead of that year. When I went to the 2017 Coke 400 I also got to watch Byron win the Xfinity series there. Then when I saw him win at Indy I knew he would go on to do some bug things.

Tbh, he wasn't an iRacing star or standout. He is rarely a favorite in races, rather getting attention cuz of who he is. He usually crashes, and from most people in the know, was kind of a weapon pre-2013 on iRacing, and still basically used his family money to get into real life racing. He is a great driver, no question, but to say he was a great iRacer that made the big time is a stretch. That is more Ty Majeski, Derek Kraus, Mitchell DeJong, etc.
