His season reminds me of Ryan Newman's 2003 season, where he won a lot of races and did extremely well when he did, but threw away his championship hopes because of having a bunch of stupid mistakes.

Steventhe2nd for most drivers I’d agree, but Matt Kenseth was always a consistent top 10 driver in the 2000s, so to finish 14th and more importantly miss the chase is a bad season. 2010 was pretty bad too but he still salvaged a 5th place points finish, then 2011 he bounced back with 3 wins
