Come take a look at Good Smile Company's diecast Hagane Works Robocop and Robocop 2 Moderoid Cain plus stay for Hiya toys Robocop 2 Cain and battle damaged Cain. Would I buy any of this for a dollar? you'll have to watch to find out, but what I can say is not everyone makes the cut. whether you love it or hate it Robocop 2 (and Phil Tippett) brought one of cinema's most interesting mech designs to life. And for years fans have been asking for a Cain figure in any scale, and after three decades two companies have finally heard the collector community and produced not one but three figures. But do any of these pay proper tribute to the source material, is good smile companies model plug-and-play, or something far more complex. Well at least one thing is certain, with all these products being released within the last year and 1/2 there... it's a good time to be a Robocop fan.

Dude you ever build the Moderoid Cain? Curious to see how yours turned out. I’m almost finished with mine and your video gave me the ouch I needed to pull the trigger and get it. Btw the Mafex Robocop figures are the superior 1:12 figures. Highly recommend.

I guess the figma Robocop is around the same price as the Mafex? ... hope somebody will release a decent T-800 Endoskeleton soon for the lower end market😁

I was not aware of the existence of this version of Robocop and of Cain. This Robocop looks pretty cool, but maybe a little thicker than he is in my mind's eye. But then, usually, when I watch Robo 1 or 2 (the only films/shows I bother with), I do often think that the suit looks a bit thicker around the midsection and thighs from certain angles. Robo is not a small LEO for sure. Do you think this version of Robocop is a better figure than the MAFEX release? I missed that one (No. 67), and have it on my list as the undamaged version of Robo that I want to hang out with my 6-inch line. I look forward to the updates on the Cain build. Since I started watching toy review videos during the pandemy, I also got into watching different model build videos from time to time as the model building seems adjacent to action figures. Given your attention to detail, I think the Cain build should be fun and turn out great.

You know, I actually really don't like the Mafex Robocop. I kind of had the opposite reaction to him in that I thought he was entirely too thin (especially the shoulders. Peter Weller is 6ft and broad. The thing that a lot of manufacturers get wrong is that the costume is really barrel chested with a curved back and thinner waist (and large hips). The Mafex has kind of even proportions because i don't think that they were building it with the idea that (proportionally) a fullsize man should fit in the middle, which makes the head and shoulders look a bit small. The good smile robo is a little stocky, but I think closer in proper proportion than Neca, Mcfarlane, or Mafex. If they ever get around to it, I really think that mezco will nail it.

@@strangeform Thanks for the info! I have semi-fallen for Mafex because it tends to scale pretty well with other 6-inch lines (Legends, Classified, Mythic Legions, Mezco). Sometimes Mafex feels a bit undersized, which I think might be the case with the Robo you described. Their big/tall characters, like, say, Thor, feel not that big. Not as big as some other lines would do it. Good call on the potential of a Mezco Robocop. I think they would likely nail it. And the accessories would be fun

@@strangeform I havent got the cain figure yet but I do have a xenomorph related question. I recently got the palisades signature series big chap. this statue is supposed to be a limited edition of 1500 but the artists proof on the base on mine says 13/60 and so does the artists proof on the box. is this a typo or is there some sort of limited release? do you have this on your list of big chap figures?

Moderoid is a great line. Definitely not made to just slap together and display though. Made for modelers.

Yeah, it definitely is. I have the Evangelion Unit-01, which is one of the better renditions of the Eva. And I think that their Patlabors are probably the best ever produced. But I was underwhelmed by their ED-209, as it is missing more details at that price point than I would like to see, but I will admit that the articulation on that one is great. Cain, on the other hand is amazing, and not at all a bad price for what you get. That being said, I know that there will be a lot of non modelers who are going to be disappointed when they see that it is going to be a labor and skill intensive endeavor.

@@strangeform I have the AV-98 Ingram and a few of the OBSOLETE 1/35 scale kits. The detail is fantastic for such small kits.
