James wouldn't want Keith's money. he was too proud. in law or not. he was the man of that house and he was the one to take care of business. u think Florida would be working? nope. Micheal would be in school, JJ art school or some job. I highly doubt Keith would be living there non the less marrying his daughter without a home. but we all know why Keith ended up at the Evans' home. because of JJ and his shenanigans

I never liked Keith it was like he wanted to leech off all of them and he was a lousy husband to Thelma. Thelma deserved better. It was like Florida, Michael, and JJ tried to welcome him in the family but deep down it was like he disliked them. I'm glad every time Keith was out of line Thelma would put him in his place.

Context matters. The man was about to be a high paying football player living on the nice side of town and wanted to Thelma the good life. Tripping over JJ at your wedding destroyed all of that. It’s very easy for anyone to become disgruntled living with the Evans family in the projects when you had everything in front of you. Stop being narrow minded and get off your high horse

Buying a home can be complicated, even Keith's money might be enough, financing might require that someone have an high credit score for low interest loan, Keith would be better off if he would just leave..
