Thank you for posting! I've gone through a similar procedure with Yuasa replacement batteries. The beauty of these "fill-'em-yourself" batteries is you can buy one before your current battery goes bad, keep it on a shelf until you need it, then fill it with electrolyte and install whenever.

Exactly. I suspect this is what I will be using going forward.

You may want to consider a wall timer for the battery charger an hour or two should keep the battery top up. Happy Holiday's to you and your family.

Same to you Mark. The new Charger has a smart trickle charging feature which I am trying over the next 5 years. 😊

I connect my 2016 R to an Optimate 4 trickle charger via the auxiliary "cigarette" type plug after each ride. Easier than having to remove battery cover and fix clips to terminals. 60K km still on original battery. But Grumpy I have a question; couldn't locate a post of you changing coolant on youtube, but did come across a forum where you discussed this procedure using a particular vacuum system. I think it was an airlift but at $400+AUD I would prefer a cheaper option, which brings me to the question ...did the vacuum kit you used have a specific radiator cap that simply replaced the OEM or did it use another adaptor? I've seen other kits on Aliexpress but unsure if they will fit the BMW radiator cap. Any links to other videos or any suggestions appreciated.

@@mrdin5332 I have an SAE pigtail on all my bikes, connected directly to the battery terminals. That pigtail is used to charge the battery. I don’t recall changing coolant and certainly not using any $400 gizmo. I suspect you are mixing me up with someone else perhaps …? Would be good if you can find that post.

Ok, I see the thread on my RS forum, so I deleted your comment copying the posts. Here is the link to the thread: rswasserboxer.com/R1200RSforum/thread-251-post-1777.html#pid1777 Mspratz is the one who did the coolant change. I never got around to doing it.
