Sounds like an awesome trip coming mate. I tell ya, highway can be boring on any bike, but you will be better off on something a little heavier for sure. What will the temps be like - much variation? I can get a lot of variation here, but tht's 'cos I like to do trips in Spring or Autumn. Looking forward to watching it mate.

I wonder what whould be the HD offer. Great to hear about your planned trip. It will be fun to see my country from your perspective - hope you will have a good experience in Poland. I think the KTM 790 is a great choice, so many people will want to watch a long review of this bike, me too. When does the trip begin?

Based on HD homepage their price would be pretty much the same as the KTM 790. But the thing is I really am not a HD person, I feel a pull towards the KTM a lot more :) And especially since I am looking to replace my bike in near future, this KTM is quite intriguing for me. We'll be tripping in the beginning of June.

I understand your sympathy and feel a similar attraction to this type of bikes. I think it's an ideal fun-exploring-enduro-everyday machine or I hope it is. Want to see you riding that KTM! ;) The funny thing is that cruiser bikes got me in to motorcycling. Still love them, but nowdays I think of them more like a honourable sculpture in motocycle culture or a classy musclecar among bikes. Still my dream to have one but not as a first/main bike. Did you really considered one on this trip? Which one?

When I was learning to ride a bike (about five years ago), my dad had just bought a bike over 40 years or so (he used to own and ride bikes when he was young). And that bike was a Honda Shadow 650 cruiser. And that is the bike I practiced the most on. I love the riding position and the comfort, and of course - the sound. But then I discovered a naked bike - a Honda Hornet for myself and that was my first bike. Simply based on the looks of the bike. Not long after I discovered, that I would love to be able to turn off of the asphalt every now and then and this is how I found my current bike.. If I could afford and had a place to keep two bikes, one of those would definitely be a cruiser, as I would love to own this cool big bike. Or maybe a bobber of kind. But since I can only have one bike, it has to be able to take me off road as well. In the end, I guess there isn't a perfect bike. You just have to realised what you do most on the bike, or what your friends do on the bike and choose accordingly. And those preferences will change over time :) I would love to try a Harley Sportster at some point. Not sure it is the right one for longer distances, but I like the way they look. :)

That wobble is a worry, it could be dangerous,I’d get it looked at in case something bad happens. It looks a great road trip you have planned.

Luckily it doesn't manifest unless I ride really fast and normally I don't. I'm trying to get in touch with the guys that have been working on my bike but the spring is such a busy time for them :(

That KTM seems a good choice =) 4000 km trip.. well, that sounds serious lol Next month I'm planning a roadtrip too with some friends, but "only" 1000km ^^ Peace!

Even 1000km is quite a trip if you haven't really toured :D

@@MargusMoto yeah right, that's gonna be something. I'm used to drive a lot, but with cars or trucks, more than 500km will be kind of a challenge on bike ^^

MrDropALot said that he could loan his bike to you, but hed be responsible when it breaks down... so I would not advise going that road. On the other hand, it would be awesome if you’d get 790adventure

It is so kind and awesome for MrDropALot to offer his bike! Especially as I know his bike has done pretty much the same route already :D But having seen it break down pretty much every time we go riding together... XD

@@MargusMoto last time it was just luck :P His bike actually failed twice. First the battery, but we were lucky that we could push him down from the mountain. Second the clutch. Weird thing was that he checked the clutch and it was OK. He thinks the bike is fine now
