When marketing misses its mark! ‪@LiftFoils‬
00:00:10 - Verdant Ride Ad - FAST
00:03:45 - Lift's Ad - SLOW
Sometimes it is hard to see your products through the eyes of your customers. I made this comparison video to hopefully help Lift see that their adverts make eFoiling look slow and boring, like a really expensive version of stand-up paddle boarding.
Lift Pro boards are phenomenal but you wouldn't really know that from their marketing. I'm way too busy to be their CSO or marketing director, but I do have enough time to hopefully show them that their current marketing department needs to focus on performance and power and leave the slow serenity angle to SUPs and other products that cost a fraction of their eFoils.
THUMBNAIL NOTE:
So I don't actually mow down the ladies in the kayaks. I actually go well behind them. This was edited to make the composition fit and according to GPT adding this sense of tension will improve clickthrough rate.
ChatGPT
"In the thumbnail, while it's not the intention to suggest a collision course, the positioning does create a dynamic that could catch a viewer's eye. This kind of visual tension might actually work in favor of the thumbnail's click-through rate, as it creates a scene that viewers will want to resolve by watching the video. It's a common technique in visual media to create a sense of action or impending event to draw in the audience."

Sick riding man. Definitely the best efoil carving I’ve found on KZbin. I’m looking at getting one but worried riding solo might get boring. Do you ever run into that? Also, I want to carve like at 1:32 . Been snowboarding and wakeboarding my entire life so very comfortable on a board. Would you recommend starting with a shorter board even though it will be harder to learn at first? Looking at flites new air pro

I ride with friends, I ride with my neighbor, I ride with others at race events… All are fun BUT I prefer my riding alone the most. I listen to my favorite music, and enter the zen of shredding the lake riding at my own pace, that happens to be much faster than everyone else. When I ride with friends I'll sometimes ride goofy just to reduce my skills enough to allow me some empathy for those slower than me. If you wakeboard you probably enjoy the gang in the boat and taking turns watching/being watched that's still possible if you take turns on a board with your friends trading off every 10-15 minutes or so. I really like riding so I just kept buying boards each year until I wasn't forced to share with anyone else on the weekends when friends/family visited. So for you, do you enjoy skiing/snowboarding alone? If so, you'll like this. I happen to love all these sports tougher and on my own so it has always worked for me and I never get bored when I'm on a board. The carving you see at 1:32 is super easy especially with a small board and wings made for agility. On Thursday I would ONLY recommend you get the smallest board like a Lift Pro 4'2". I cannot comment on the Flite's smallest board since I've not yet ridden it and I really can't get over their shite controllers due to the limited speed control. I Discuss the issue here and why a smaller board is a better choice for anyone with board skills here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4GQp6dqhsqJrac

@@VerdantRidemakes sense. I snowboard solo a good amount and still have a great time. But think I prefer bombing down the mountain in a group… when you go out by yourself, how long are you typically riding the foil? Thirty or an hour of carving? Or more? Just saw you posted a new video. I’ll watch it soon. Thanks for the feedback and videos. Enjoy

I go out for 30 minutes and often grab a 2nd battery and hit another 30. Kinda depends on how my gimpy knee is feeling that day and how hard it hit it on my first ride. On the weekends I share my boards with my friends and we ride around together. It's a different kind a fun, much slower, like when you have a pal that isn't ready to leave the green runs.

At least on the Lift KZbin channel they have started uploading more interesting EFoiling footage showcasing surfing behind boats or even riding the tidal bore on a river. You're right that their advertising on the website is silly, as if we all live in tropical areas where its comfortable to ride in a swimsuit year round. The incessant use of slo-mo is goofy too. You would think they would want to show off how crazy fast their product can go! With your drone close to the water it gives a great sense of the impressive speeds you're reaching. I've been riding a lot here in the Pacific Northwest and though the air and water temperature temperatures are dropping it's no problem getting out with a wetsuit and maybe light gloves so my hands don't get numb. The best part about riding this time of year is how quiet the lakes are, most people put their boats away after Labor Day. It doesn't get cold enough for the lakes to freeze so it's possible to ride year round in these parts and Lift should show that as part of the appeal.

They did? I swear the only vids I see that are at all exciting are from owners, not the company.
