I've never heard of these movies before, and based on this video have no plan to see them. Because any people stupid enough to sign legal documents without having them approved by an lawyer who knows the law of that genre are begging to get fucked. And people that stupid can't possibly make good movies. Then you have the genius decisions to film in 3rd world shit holes to save money. Clearly their entire research time of the locations consisted of them saying "I had an uncle who went to Egypt to see the pyramids many decades ago and he made it back alive, so I know for a fact that we will have no problems filming in Africa" and "I had another uncle who had a connecting flight in India on his way to Australia many decades ago and he made it back alive, so I know for a fact that we will have no problems filming in India".

Yaldabaoth Brazil is one of the most beautiful countries on earth. Just because a country is not of first world economy doesnt mean it’s riddled with “horrible people” as you so bluntly and stupidly say. Im not even from Brazil, i’m a Mexican who has had the fortune to travel to tons of places, i know first hand that there’s good and bad everywhere in the world. Your comment is just ignorant and kind of angers me, and im probably wasting my time writing this cause people of your line of thinking almost never change their minds.

I hope the Ford brothers realized after filming The Dead II, don't go guerrilla into a foreign country. First do a bit of research about the country and thereafter speak with the locals to scout locations that are safe and near the cities. Get your shooting permits so that you're able to get local police protection if necessary. Don't just drop into a farfetched village in the middle of the desert and hope everything would run smoothly.

I wanna say that I'm a bit of a newer audience member to this channel and I admit I love your videos, they're all so great, I especially like the fact that a lot of the movies that you talk about are B movies or even less known movies that hardly receive any appreciation at all from any other channel in KZbin and not only do you limit yourself to talking about whether the quality is good or not, but you also talk about the story behind the filming that adds a totally new layer of appreciation to these lesser known movies, I hope you can keep up the good work for a lot more time to come.

I'm surprised they didn't hire any sort of armed security crew if they were filming in Africa or rural India. I know they didn't have much of a budget, but exotic isolated locations aren't that safe. They probably would have encountered similar problems in rural regions of SE Asia, too. Filming the first movie, they had bandits wary of attacking because of extras with prop guns. They can distrubute their own movies now with internet, with Vimeo, youtube, dailymotion, Vimeo OTT, Distrify, Reelhouse... well there are plenty of web sites who can help you promote and distibute a movie.

And this is why, kids, that you should always research which films to buy and which ones to pirate. Stealing is wrong, so don't pay money to thieves.

They should have made documentaries about the conditions to film in both africa and india. I am sure it would have been both more horrifying and financially successful.

A couple of Directors today got screwed over by deals they made with movie studios, Such as Zack Snyder, Joss Whedon, James Gunn, Ridley Scott, Michael Bay, and Steven Soderbergh.

It seems like the problems these filmmakers keep facing on both shoots could've easily been solved if they had talked to the locals or employed a fixer/guide to help them navigate the communities they wanted to film in. In both instances they just show up somewhere foreign and hope for the best without making any connections with local people. That seems like a stupid and arrogant approach to filming in an unfamiliar foreign country -and you know what they say about what kind of prizes you win when you play stupid games...

They most likely had fixer type of people on set. I think these types of incidents still happen with them, but they can hopefully de-escalate the situation. Also they seemed to have local security personel since they had access to guns for safety of the actress.

On both shoots they said they literally just showed up and hired people. No prep or establishing relations with the locals. Just straight run and gun guerrilla style shooting. I’ve shot in some pretty uncontrolled environments and when the locals feel disrespected you get the results they dealt with, it’s a somewhat typical attitude of careless filmmakers just looking to exploit poor foreign communities for their own benefit.

@@jacobcantrell82 Yeah they should've talked to the locals and asked them very nicely not to rape their leading lady. Jesse is just another SJW who needs a reality check

The Dead was a great movie. It really sucks that the guys who made it, got so screwed on the deal. Then again that's a fairly common theme in Hollywood.
