This doesn’t make me nostalgic, cause I was a kid at the time. However, I watched older relatives/neighbors dress/act like this with their friends, and I always imagined in high school I’d have a close group of friends like this, we always hang out right after school drinking Arizona tea’s and hot Cheetos fries, talking about horrible teachers or other kids at school. That feeling when you know someone in the group has a crush on you so you act all cute/funny with them, but at the moment, you’re not really worried about anything, you’re not concerned where it’s gonna go. You just look up at the cloudy grey sky in the park with your friends and laugh, joke about whatever comes to mind, maybe someone brings a speaker and we listen to music while we hang out. That’s what I hoped high school would be. I never got to be or do any of that, but a part of me somewhat wishes my upcoming university life could be like that. I just want to hang out, not be concerned about dates or whatever, just us hanging out like friends. I hope after this pandemic people are more willing to just take things more slow, less fast paced.
@levihan3343 жыл бұрын
no causeI had the same exact thoughts. I remember being in elementary school thinking in middle school and high school I’d be allowed to basically do whatever I want and hoping to make some good friends and just hang out all the time. Sit in the grass outside of school like some cliche coming of age movie and just staying there for hours as if there were no other obligations in life. I’m gonna be out of highschool soon and never experienced anything like that and it kinda sucks tbh

An advice from a sis in university, it's not like what you think it is. All the stuff you see in dramas like partying and dating scandals is just not true. Most people in uni are too busy to care about such things and classes can easily take a toll on you. Am i saying that you won't have fun? Absolutely not, they are the best days of your life just don't have unrealistic expectations and choose your major wisely! I wish you the best of luck 💖

It’s where you trade just one shoe for the day lmao Like you’d take off one shoe and your close friend would do the same and then you’d put their shoe on and they’d put your shoe on! hahaha Or if we didn’t trade shoes, we’d trade shoe laces. I remember those checkered shoe laces we all got from either Spencer’s or hot topic, and you could get them in different colors. And so you would unlace one set of laces from one of the shoes you were wearing that day to school and your close friend would do the same and you’d lace their laces into your shoe and vice versa haha This might not sound like much fun but it definitely was for us! Also sometimes we’d even borrow our friends hair extensions that you could buy from hot topic. I remember borrowing my close friends red extension a couple of times lol. It was that one iconic extension where it was just one strip of colored hair lol And it was sold in that plastic transparent packaging haha Nostalgia😔🥺 The friend I did all this stuff with, we stopped talking during the middle of freshman year bc we went to different high schools in different school districts. So for about half a year we did still text after middle school, but since we lived so far away and were busy with school we just didn’t talk as much and we never physically hung out again after they moved away to start high school. Their Facebook page popped up a couple of weeks ago and she’s now in the health field and going to Peru this March with a group of people in the same field, to help underprivileged people who don’t have access to health care, and just to speak about the importance of health care in general. So even though 8th grade for her and I was literally 7 years ago almost 8, and I sometimes wish i could relive certain moments with her, I’m glad we’re both older and doing our own thing. Being a kid is really exciting sometimes but nothing beats having freedom and being in a career you love. (Woah I sound like an adult, I am though haha, I just turned 22) Wish her nothing but all the best!
