Goodbye Adobe, Hello Affinity Photo 2!

Changing your T&Cs was a bad business decision!
This video is a short update on my audio issues I have had.
I hope they are solved now.
In addition I discuss the reason why I have left Adobe and what Adobe did to get me to stop my subscription.
I am utterly disgusted and infuriated by Adobe’s unethical practices. Their recent changes to the Terms and Conditions, followed by a swift reversal only after a massive backlash, were deplorable. Instead of making amends, they inserted more dubious clauses, blatantly gaslighting the public.
My video might be late to the party, but the outrage from tens of thousands of professionals and the flood of videos on KZbin speak volumes. For me, Adobe’s actions were the final straw. The ordeal of removing my data from their servers, canceling my monthly subscription, and finally deleting my account was grueling and infuriating. Adobe has proven to be a nefarious company, and their conduct is beyond unacceptable.
However, there is a silver lining. I am elated to have switched to Affinity products-Affinity Photo 2, Designer 2, and Publisher 2. These tools are incredible, with a one-time payment instead of Adobe’s exorbitant $50 monthly subscription. For just $79, I now have superior apps that work seamlessly on all my devices. Thank you, Affinity, for providing such tremendous tools and for your ethical business practices.

adobe was so bad I couldn't even be bother to pirate it. I was one of the early adopter of Affinity and I am so glad for it!

WOW! I cannot argue with that. I guess it took me a while to see the light :-) hahaha. I noticed how antinquated it was when I started to use it to colour my comics panels I am creating. It is pathetic. Affinity is farrrrrrrr better! Looks like Adobe has been stuck in the 90's with features.

I finally dropped Adobe after over 20 years of use. I have had Affinity Photo for a few years but kept my Adobe subscription for Lightroom (I now use Capture One). It took some time and work to get fully dis-entangled and develop a new way of working. The additional benefit of freeing up over 20gb on my hard drive and deleting the several Adobe “support” apps (doing who knows what) is frosting on the cake.

Good for you! I wish I could have earlier, however, because of my clients working with Adobe it was tricky for me. This month I managed to move ALL of my clients (over 500 clients to date) to Affinity and Radiant and it is working out well. Thanks for watching.

I kept using CS6 as I refused to RENT software. When Affinity came along, I bought all their apps on sale and started learning them. v1 apps were good, but had some shortcomings. v2 addressed enough of them that I dropped Adobe completely for Affinity, and v2.5 is fantastic. I love hearing diehard fanboys say that Affinity isn't "professional" while I make my living with it. Thanks to Affinity and DaVinci Resolve, I'm 100% Adobe free, and I'm a veteran designer/director that goes way back w/Adobe.

Good to hear I am not the only one. I have used Adobe since they came out. It's upsetting. However as I earn a living off my work, I agree with you. Sadly I could not leave earlier because I had committments with clients on the Adobe platform. It has taken me 12 months to ween off clients to Affinity and thus my move over is very very welcome :-)

Yeah they went off the rails. A long time coming for Adobe, however now that we have alterantives we can shift!

yeah yeah yeah we know Affinity is a good alternative for Ps. im just an avid photographer with many thousanfs of images and i need an image management program like Lr. ive tried C1 and couldnt get the folder structure, i just didnt understand it. Lr is simple for me and i am not a smart man. i dont like Adobe and how they are using my images. my only hope is Apple i am begging um bring back Aperture.

Hi there. Well for management of photos and cataloguing I use Capture One. It works bes for me for this and replaces LR. The Library tool in the Catalog tracks the imported original images in their folders or wherever they are located. The Library tool seamlessly keeps track of the corresponding variants and adjustments. After importing, you can use the Library to create projects, groups, and albums to further organize your images. Plus the colour grading in Capture One is another alternative even for Affinity however, it is better for live photo tethered capture as well. So this is why I use it. It's an option and it certainly beats LR from Adobe.
