This is the EXACT same setup I got! I ordered my 2022 with Portiamo blue and Fjord blue interior! I have never seen anyone else with the same build as mine!

I have a question, do you think it be difficult to sell the car due to the VIN showing the car was optioned with the carbon buckets ? I’m actually in the market for a g82 and i’ve found one same colors as yours actually lol, with the carbons but i’m 6’3 with big thighs and I was potentially thinking of buying it, and and switching out the seats. If I didn’t like them I was just afraid I wouldn’t be able to sell the car due to them being attached to the VIN, please let me know what you think. Thank you and great video.

I dont think it will be difficult to sell, no. Will it affect resale value? Possibly - you're taking a highly desirable seat option out of the car and replacing with a cheaper version. But you account for that by swapping someone + cash on their end. So that compensates for the possible dip in resale value.

All wiring is good and plug n play. However, as mentioned in the video, coding needs to be done since these new seats werent initially with my car. Had to get some remote coding done in order to have full operation of the seat controls.

I have a 23’ M340i and i’m planning on putting some g80/g82 seats in , is it the same process?, and so what coding would i need to do.

I know that Kies Motorsports swapped in G8X seats into an M340, so you may want to check out their video to see if anything else is needed other than coding.

In before all the comments telling you that you are wrong about the buckets. Lol. For the life of me, I can’t understand someone who tries to tell another person what they should think about their car. I ordered the sport seats but if someone can deal with the buckets, they are rad. Enjoy them. As for the Silverstone, I have had very light seats with young kids, including BMW Oyster Nappa. A good cleaner and a good protectant to keep the sea dirt away. It’s a little bit of work, but it’s not that much more than anything other than black. The blue will certainly show dirt slower, though.

Well said. I completely agree with you. At the end of the day, it’s my car and I’ll do what I want. Title is in my name, no one else’s☺️ The Silverstone seats were ceramic coated. I tried my best to keep them clean as well but lighter interior colors show more dirt. I figured blue or something a bit darker would be easier to live with. But the Silverstone looked amazing, as I’m sure yours also does!

It is definitely something to keep up with, but some people think it'll be a nightmare. It's not, but it is work. At least you didn't go with black. I must be a glutton because I went with Ivory. 😬😂

The new interior install looks awesome! You mentioned a newborn. If you don’t mind my asking, what’s the child car seat experience like with an M3? Installation, ride comfort for the baby, how far up do driver/passenger seats have to be etc. Also, does a rear facing child car seat fit decently in the back with the comfort seats rather than the bucket seats?

Very good question! Car seat fits well, but the front passenger seat needs to be pushed forward a bit. Its honestly the same as my wife's G01 X3M40i. My baby loves the G80 though. She likes all the loud exhaust noise and she still has no problem falling asleep if need be. I would say the amount of room with a rear facing child seat is the same regardless of the seats being comfort or buckets. I did not notice a difference in space between the two.

There is a ventilation package for the sport seats, just not the buckets.

Are the seats plug and play? Do you have to reprogram anything in the car for it to function? Do you have to transfer over the computer underneath the passenger and driver side?

Some of this was explained in the video. The seat swap will require coding to pair the seats with your car. You MIGHT be able to transfer the modules over, but it is not confirmed whether or not it'll remove the error lights on your dash.
