June 11, 2024 the beautiful French singer and songwriter passed away, Francoise Hardy. I share about her music, and how influential she was on my life.
Francoise hardly is one of those artists that is a gift to discover. She was a French singer-songwriter and actress pop artist in the 60s , part of the “ye ye” wave form that time and just continued making music throughout her whole life. Her career spanned more than fifty years with over thirty studio albums released.

Francoise Hardy is one of my all time favourite artists. And one of the most collected in my collection. In my top 3 or 4. I believe over 30 albums and many 7" singles. She is so missed now. At least we have her music. Cheers on the good video.

Excellent artist, also fan of Jacques and Thomas Dutronc. Already miss the revival of pop music sung in French from a couple of years ago. Last two years its kinda boring again, although I haven't seriously listened to the new Calypso Valois-album but didn't grab me at first listen - she's the daughter of Eli Medeiros and Jacno. Clara Luciani and Iliona are working on new material, fingers crossed 🤔

I discovered Francoise Hardy in the movie Moonrise Kingdom as well. That was the best scene in the film of the two of them dancing on the beach to her song Le Temps de l'amour. Absolutely brilliant!

Hi Monie ! She was so pretty 😊. I'm glad she had such an influence on you. I always liked her hair & fashion sense & sensual music & I don't speak French either. I bet you loved Paris & the atmosphere of the city. Looking forward to watching the Olympics from there in July. Take Care 😊

I don't have any of her music, but I know who Francoise Hardy is. We've been losing a lot of people lately, it seems. RIP, Ms. Hardy. This is a nice video tribute you made, not too long, not too downbeat, just right. I remember when Terry Kath of Chicago passed away, it was a surprise. I wondered if their sound would change; unfortunately (in my view), it did. A similar reaction occurred when I heard Stevie Ray Vaughan passed; he was so good, and now there wouldn't be more music from him. As for Francoise Hardy, you do have LPs and CDs of hers so you can relive all the memories associated with them. She lives on through those recordings.

Thanks for your tribute ! Françoise is like part of our family in France, like Jane Birkin (who also passed away not so long ago) was with Serge Gainsbourg, as her husband Jacques Dutronc and her son Thomas are also well knowned and seem so humble and accessible ! So sad to see so sixties famous idol pass away these times. But so happy to see that their music are listened all over the world and will live forever !

It's always sad to hear of the passing of a music icon even when we know them only as names associated with a bygone era. I'm more familiar with her contemporaries Elis Regina and Astrud Gilberto and I'm sure it would be interesting if there paths had crossed.
