Your story has struck such a chord with me. I'm also Australian (Sydney), and had a PE earlier this year - multiple clots. I was 28, super healthy (I run and lift weights), I'd had extremely limited interactions with the healthcare system before this. I know that it is only luck that I'm still here, as fortunately it was picked up by a very good doctor. I'm on the other end now as I hit 6 months since I was in the hospital. Wishing you a quick recovery, and hope you can get back to doing what you love soon.

Also from Adelaide here, I’m very sorry this has happened to you and I wish you all the best in your surgery. If I have guessed right and the hospital you’re referring to is Modbury, I also experienced negligence from them so bad it lead to the death of someone very close to me. I wish you well in recovery and hope I’ve been able to help you feel less alone in this ❤❤

Thank you for taking us on this journey with you. I'm sorry for how tragic it has been so far but I know that it will get better. I'd recommend reading either The Horse and His Boy(Short, fun, but has some answers for your situation) or A Grief Observed(Short, about his wife dying of cancer), both by CS Lewis, while you are recovering. They hold some great wisdom for dealing with these kinds of struggles. We have had crazy stories in and out of the hospital in my family, from being crushed by cars to being swallowed by fireballs. CS Lewis seems to have the best grasp on reality, or at least reality from my point of view, and how he is able to articulate that is really comforting.

The longer this video went on, the sicker I felt (i mean it, i am nauseous right now). I am SO so sorry. It’s crazy because I remember your original video of your leg popping up on my FYP months ago and realised we had been on the same cruise. Seeing where it has led you has broke me. As a nurse, the negligence you endure is unforgivable, and those photos of your leg were SCREAMING DVT. I’m only a few years older than you and to think of how fast your life has changed when our lives are ahead of us. The strength you have is insane. You are way too young and beautiful to deal with this. I wish I could take it away in a heartbeat. Thank you for sharing your story, it will not go unheard, you are so important. Absolutely sick of the Australian medical “professionals “ we have. Yes there are brilliant people out there who make us feel seen and have saved lives. But there are way more who are so dismissive and ignorant. It’s genuinely disgusting. And then when WE have to research and request tests because they’re stupid, they brush it off as us being paranoid or anxious. I had a bilateral pulmonary embolism the same time you had yours. I was in the hospital for 5 days. They tested me for pulmonary hypertension. Because this was my second time I had bilateral pulmonary embolism. I am now on blood thinners for the rest of my life. I now struggle at night when I sleep. My oxygen goes down to the low 80s and I would wake up exhausted and hypoxic. I am now on oxygen at time of sleep. I wish you the best. I know the exhaustion you are going through. Things will get better. Your young. Most blood clots come from the legs . You should have never flown.
@ParisHedger3 ай бұрын
Oh wow that must've been so scary going through, I'm glad they've got you the oxygen support now! Yes if the doctors actually advised me not to fly I wouldn't have, but they didn't do their job properly and I was completely uneducated about it all.
@liisabjork763 ай бұрын
@@ParisHedger you have to sue them. I would get advice from a medical malpractice lawyer. I do feel so much better after having the oxygen . My clots did some damage to my lungs. I still suffer from fatigue during the day but I do have a sleep disorder. I'm a nurse and I totally agree, there was quite a lot of medical neglect. I get so mad for you. But if you need any advice or have questions just ask. I'll see it here on KZbin. Take care of yourself. 🫴🫁💓
@liisabjork763 ай бұрын
@@paul-vw2ey mine was unprovoked as well but I did have bilateral pulmonary embolism back 10 years ago so at this time I was put on Xerelto which is a blood thinner for prevention. I was tested for a blood clotting disorder but all my tests came back negative. There is so much of my cases unknown. These can be deadly . My lungs aren't the same. I do have some lung damage from the blockages. But we must be weary. If you have pain and swelling of your legs it's really important to go get an ultrasound. The leg pain for me last time wasn't severe. A few days later bam, severe pain in my left side of my lung area. We must be adamant about getting things checked out since we all have already had an episode. It doesn't mean we won't get another DVT . I was really bull headed about getting my pain checked out but it got so severe I had to go. I put two and two together at the hospital relating my pain behind my knee with slight swelling. May you both find good health 💓

Those “medical professionals” deserve every law suit and action you throw their way. Absolutely disgusting utterly negligent behaviour. I have been on horse riding trips like the one you described. I’m a confident rider, but on this one trek I was on it was like the horse was entirely switched off. It’s obviously not the horses fault, animals do what they do, but the business model they operate under put you in a situation you should never have had to be in. As someone who has broken and dislocated her shoulder riding horses to then be told to walk it off, this type of medical negligence, especially towards young women, is not uncommon in this industry. I would deeply encourage you to leave a public review if you haven’t done so already.
