I still replay this game every so often. I remember first playing it when I was like 8 or 9... I didn't at all understand the RPG mechanics and really struggled to beat it. Once I finally did beat it... I'd collected everything but the armor you get for the 100 super jumps. I tried and tried and tried to get that, for years. I'd play the game probably once a year, anxiously anticipating the point where I'd try for the 100 jumps but give up out of frustration. Finally, YEARS later, I was 23 or 24 years old and FINALLY unlocked it. It was the last thing on my gaming check list as far as tasks I perceived to be too difficult and since then I've done it 3 more times. It was such a difficult mental barrier to clear but it taught me to just keep trying and eventually, no matter how long it takes, you'll get what you're after. Love this game.

I agree the characters in this game that were and will never be seen again because they are squaresoft property are timeless. I like geno but yaridovich is my favorite Mario character. He had so much potential I thought. Even as a villain I kept hoping he’d turn good as I really love him as a character. Right up until they electrocuted him to death. Not that they had a choice because they were in a duel with a mechanical spear weilding mage… but I was still sad to learn that the bosses died upon defeat. Other than smithy who was really depraved and definitely deserved it. I wish these bosses could have been rebuilt and found happiness. But even if that was meant to happen it never will due to human greed in real life. RIP: yaridovich - my favorite Mario character ever
