Goodbye Limitations - Feelworld F6 Plus Monitor

Thank you, I usually don't get to complicated with grading. I use the WB and tint in Premiere along with curves. And often add a film emulation lut of some sort to bring different clips together look wise. I believe a couple of these clips also had the Sedona lut from IWLTBAP - There’s a couple of free luts on his site including Sedona. They're all super nice. Check them out if you haven't already.

Thank you for review. I got fuji xt4 and am considering this. Could you please tell me how you can shoot 4k 60p on fuji, record it internally and still see what you shooting on monitor? Is there such option on fuji - to feed lets say 30p to monitor and 60p recording internally? Or how do you shoot Broll with this monitor?

You have a couple of different options on your fuji when it comes to output over HDMI and it works really well for monitoring in all available frame rates and aspect ratios/resolutions on the X-T4.

That's a good question, allow me to be a little vague here. According to the specs, it should only handle 4K 30fps and 4K dci 24/25 fps. That said, I've shot 4K 60fps and monitored on it. But never 4K 120fps My camera only does 120fps in fhd so I can't test this myself sadly. But as I'm writing this, I'm also thinking that I may have my hdmi out set to fhd and not 4K. How's the A7SIII, can you have a different resolution and frame rate on the hdmi from what you're recording internally? If that's possible, it should work if you output a fhd signal instead of 4k to the monitor. Since it's only a fhd display anyway, it shouldn't make any difference in image quality.

My camera shoots 120 4k. Sony a7siii, and the monitor displays the signal still. but of course the monitor doesn't show the smoothness of 120, but you can still see it perfectly clear

First of all, thank you for supporting the channel. I'm happy to hear that you like the videos. The 80d don't have a clean HDMI signal - meaning, on the monitor you will see everything you have displayed on the camera screen. It will basically look the same. But bigger ;) You could hit the info button on your camera and hide those things. And only use the built in exposure tools of the monitor if you want. Yes this is only a monitor for viewing, you can't record on it like you can on the Atomos Ninja V and similar external recorders. If you only want to record the camera display for things like tutorials you can connect the camera or monitor to a cheap USB capture card and record on your computer. I hope this answers your question.

That's a good question, just to clarify first, the F6 is just a monitor without any recording capability. On external recording, it depends on the camera you're using and what it can output over HDMI. This varies between makers and models. But it's usually a higher bitrate rather than framerate. The again, it depends on the camera. So check what signal it can output. Hope this helps.

Might be a noob question but I have this monitor and can’t seem to get it to display my camera settings like my shutter, aperture etc.. i have to look at the flip out. Any idea how to turn that on?

That's a good question. You will have to dig through your camera's hdmi settings and enable them in camera. Sounds like it's set to what's called- a "clean hdmi out" at the moment. Keep in mind that different camera models will give you different options or no options on these settings. That's why I would recommend diving into the hdmi/display menu. Or look it up in the manual.

I have a Canon XA11 with a mic holder on the right. Is it possible to mount the tilt arm so that it juts to the left and then just flip the monitor?

Yes, that will work with the included mount. The monitor let's you flip and turn the image for this type of mounting. You could also use a smaller center mount from smallrig like the BSE2431 if you want a more compact mount solution in the long run.

Hmm that's weird, I use an old 4gb SanDisk card and when I hit the import option in the menu, it always imports the luts on that card. Not using a micro sd with adapter? Or maybe the card is bigger than what the monitor can handle? Feelworlds customer support has been great so shoot them an email or reach out to them on Instagram/fb

Hi! For that you will need an external recorder like the Ninja V or the Black Magic video assist. For stationary indoor use a capture card might be a more budget friendly option if screen recording is the main goal.

Yes, 1.25x, 1.33x, 1.5x, 2.0x, 2.0x But I would recommend the Osee Lilmon 5 for anamorphic shooting. It's what I'm using with 1.5x anamophics. It's way easier to manual focus on the Osee compared to the F6 Plus because of the higher pixel density on the Osee. It's also much brighter which also plays a big role, especially for manual focus. I don't know if that will work. Not sure if the camera will output any charge over the usb-c port. If it does it would probably eat away at the camera battery quite rapidly. So I would recommend getting a Sony style NP-F battery for the monitor. Neewer and similar brands can be found on amazon for a couple of bucks.

Yes, you can run it off a power bank. Not sure what the minimum output requirements are. But I've used none PD power banks in the past.

Are you thinking about LP-E6 batteries? Unless you already have a bunch I would recommend going with the NP-F750 for run and gun shooting since the basically offer 2x the mAh to the LP-E6 batteries.

That's when you have to set your HDMI resolution to 1080. The screen is only 1920x1080 anyway.

Well, it could be a number of things. Starting at the basic brain fart of connecting the cable to the wrong HDMI port on the monitor. A friend of mine recently bought the same model and had the same issue since he plugged the cable into the HDMI Out insted of in. If that's not the case and the monitor powers on It's probably the HDMI settings on your camera that needs a little tweaking. On some brands and models it's as easy as toggle HDMI out ON/OFF Other camera models have a more complex relation to HDMI out as they sometimes won't send a signal out while also displaying an image on the onboard screen and you as a user need to select what screen you want the image on. That and a number of other things could be the problem... So my first advice is to double check what HDMI port you use, also make sure the screen on the monitor is not dimmed down once you confirm that it's powered on and not on stand by. After that, dive in to the hdmi section of your camera manual. Good luck

Ok, that's a start atleast. Hard to say, but since you ordered two monitors it's pretty unlikely they're both broken if they behave the same. So I'd probably dig deeper on the cable and camera side. Perhaps there's a firmware update for your camera fixing some hdmi issues. Or maybe the hdmi signal is outside of the span for the monitor or the capacity of the cable you're using. Monitor should handle 4K 60fps signals. Also maybe do a quick google search on your camera model and "HDMI issue/problem" just to see if it's a common problem and what the solutions might be. There's two sides on the battery plate. One have the Sony type pins and the other side for the Canon batteries. If it doesn't start with a Canon battery I would suggest you contact the store or Feelworld to trouble shoot.

@@Dexxter_slav Oh, I've only been in contact with them through DM on Instagram for somequestions, but that worked well. You could try there maybe? Could be the battery, but Patona usually makes great batteries. Power bank works great though. But I would getting a set of NP-F style batteries. Neewer usually sells a pack with 2 and a charger for next to nothing. They will out perform LP E6 and can power more than just the monitor.

Less than a 1000 nits is a deal breaker these days when there are plenty of affordable monitors with much higher nits. I will go for 1600 to 3000.
