I have a Shield Plus and have experienced what you show here in the trigger when just dry firing, however when I'm actually shooting the gun, doing drills, etc it doesn't seem to happen or I do not notice it. To that end, I think it's largely a none issue. If it bothers someone enough, have a reputable gunsmith install an Overwatch Precision trigger. For me personally, the Shield Plus plus even in the 3.1" form shoots incredibly well for such a small gun.

if you tihnk you'll be easing off the trigger until you feel the reset then I guess it could be an issue. I can't imagine actually shooting like that tho. Seems like a manufactured issue, but everybody gets to decide these things for themselves.

Many people complain about S&W quality control after covid. I bought M&P 2.0 3.6 barrel in 2019 and Shield 2.0 in 2020. Both have been solid, I actually like its old hinge trigger.

Definitely not a competition trigger. I like the trigger just hate the 2 stage reset. Even the "bad" Glock triggers don't do this. And hey Canik is a sub $500 gun with a competition style trigger it's possible ok lol

I just bought the shield plus CC a couple days ago. I also have a trigger issue - due to the design of the blade safety being so low on the gun, I can sometimes go to pull the trigger and the blade safety never deactivates = the trigger locks up and nothing fires unless I release and move my finger lower. On a carry gun, if there is any liability that would cost me my life, this is among the stupidest. In a situation, I'm not going to be worried about where my finger lands on the trigger, I'm just going to pull the trigger, and it needs to go bang every single time. It seems this issue has been a thing with the shield plus since it came out. Fortunately, my reset is flawless, but the blade safety issue is completely unacceptable to me and I may end up selling the gun as well.

@@bangobongo I hate hearing about stuff like that man. They focused and did a great job with the entire gun but the whole essence of a gun is the trigger being functional and concern free. I tried to stick with mine but knew I wouldn't feel comfortable carrying it

The fake reset is only on the shield plus. Definitely don't do that on my. M&p 2.0

See that gotta be on the new comp version. The triggers might be different from the regular shield plus. Idk man sucks to see it go.

That's what I keep hearing. Maybe it's the performance center style trigger they use idk. But yea aside from that it was a good gun!

@ get a fn reflex? 👀 idk how particular you are with triggers but the reflex has a different trigger because it’s hammer fired so the take up and reset is gonna be different but not bad at all.

@@stern2701 I almost got the reflex but what I didn't like was that because it's technically hammer fired, you have to be sure to rack the slide ALL the way back for it to shoot. Not a big deal but I'm picky 😂 I'm actually thinking about getting an XMacro next. Seems like all these new guns are all being compared to the XMacro. Not a huge sig fan but for content purposes I would be willing to get it haha (that's what I tell my wife 😂)

@ I liked the xmacro but trigger is a little meh not bad but meh. Personally I do not understand what you are saying about the reflex. I haven’t had an issue getting it to fire slingshotting slide what do you mean I’m a bit slow I guess lol

Very confusing seeing what the actual problem with the reset was. Are you just saying the reset was too long for you? In your demonstration you were pulling the trigger before it had reset. But to say something is wrong with it seems strange.

@@OhioGunRunner It just feels like it has 2 resets. So when I take follow up shots, it feels like the trigger reset but it's only the "first" reset so it won't shoot until the SECOND reset. Hope that makes more sense? I'm surprised no other KZbinrs have talked about it. I've seen a lot of their videos and clips of them shooting and they pull the trigger and nothing happens but you see the gun jerk from the anticipated recoil

@ part of running different guns triggers have to be learned. I’m a huge fan of Caniks as well and they have to have the fastest reset out there but I have 1 smith the shield plus and I thought it was a manageable trigger still better than a Glock. I appreciate your opinions. thank you.

@ I agree with that. I just felt this trigger in specific was so much more different than anything else I've shot. The reset length/time is one thing but having multiple is another for me lol thank you for watching!
