I absolutely love opm as a franchise. It’s probably my favorite anime/manga, but even I didn’t want to get this game. It kinda sucked cause I would’ve loved a great opm game, and I hope that this game doesn’t kill the chance of another opm game.

@@Donovanyesyeysysyeyes I disagree, I can see where that comes from in terms of Saitama himself, but the rest of the game suffered not because of Saitama being present, but because the mechanics itself were poor and low budget. I think opm has plenty of characters with unique fighting styles to allow for a good anime fighting game, they just need a good combat system like demon slayer. Saitama is a problem, but maybe he could be present only in casuals and not in ranked, essentially just better thought out method.

@@clockwork4ngel893 You could also do what Street Fighter does with Akuma in that the playable version is cannonically him holding himself back which is how he can theoretically be "beaten" Guilty Gear does the same thing with Slayer and BB with Rachel, very few if any of the characters actually stand a chance of beating them so they just kinda play along and pretend to lose. When all else fails you can just say gameplay over story if need be but there are ways to have it work for both like the examples I mentioned.

Honestly this game had some potential. What I miss from the old fighting games back on ps3 was when you made a character you could customize their normal forms and their awaken state like they did in this one I know it's nothing to big but that always was a cool thing for me plus I loved the city you could explore and side missions and all but it got to repetitive and the combat was definitely not good, but the characters skills awaken forms and abilities were cool I hope in the future we can get some devs to pull these details off like they did in this game but just better mechanics, story, and for God sakes a better open world😫

Honestly, what I remember the most is how impressed I was with how they implemented Saitama. When it was first announced I remember asking myself just how the hell they would make that work. No way he wouldn't be playable, right? But he NEEDS to be overpowered too So the whole "waiting for him to arrive" not only was hilarious, but very fitting. At least they tried to balance him with that Oh this and the title, I actually do love the title of "A Hero Nobody Knows" and I so wish it was used for a better game

This game just made me so depressed, it came out at the peak of my OPM excitement after wanting a fighting game for it (I was ok with an arena fighter too tho), and it just dropped the ball in so many ways that I lost all hope for there being a good game for OPM at all

The soundtracks are similar because Toshiyuki Kishi, FighterZ's main composer, was the battle music composer for this game. Lately he's been sticking with these hard riffs after he got back into composing for Dragon Ball games in 2015, so he's just flexing his style

Now the reason why one punch man's dlc is still around and jump force's isn't is because since jump force is a crossover game that has multiple series included that's probably a licensing thing while one punch man in just one series that also explains why jump force is delisted and one punch man is still here I could be wrong but that's what I think

Like what happens with Sonic games most everyone tends to dislike, at the bare minimum the opening song and or music is good. I have a feeling a new One Punch Man mobile game will come out in the future and port it to consoles, mobile games are normally better than console games nowadays so I have faith they will make a good better One Punch Man game in the future, just look at Seven Deadly Sins upcoming game after a mediocre game like knights of brittania and now we’re getting a Genshin impact look alike, if SDS can be blessed then One Punch Man can 2.

I've been saying this and i will say it again. All of the Spike Chunsoft arena fighters sucks, they're literal cashgrabs with no thoughts really put into it. They might have neat features here and there, but that's it. The gameplay literally sucks. I'm talking about One Piece: Burning Blood, Jump Force, and this game.

I actually bought jump force because a sort of brainless fighter with a lot of fanservice is good for local play wtih my friend group since I'm the only one who plays Fighting games at an intermediate level so I thought it would be a cool party game for me and the boys, yeah that was a mistake in hindsight. Still glad I got it before the delisting for collection purposes though. The sad part is a lot of these animoo arena fighters have the building blocks for legitimately good fighters but they just never quite put them together right.

I got the deluxe edition for $17. A pretty good budget game, but they had the audacity to charge full price for it at release. There probably won't ever be another One Punch Man official game so this being the only one is disappointing, but at least it's not truly awful.

Remember in games like, DBZ Ultimate Tenkaichi Budokai, or Bakugan Defenders of the Core, where you could create your own customized characters, but they weren't a muted anti-social person and they actually talked? Yeah, good times. (Also Defenders of the Core is a pretty good fighting game, you should check it out Globku. It's definitely more of a party game, and you can't create a girl, but it's really cool.)

I want to see an anime game with CaC on the level of WWE games or koikatsu or even just Soul Calibur. So far none of the anime games with CAC have come anywhere close to either of those. If someone where to do that and le you choose from a good variety of fighting styles, that'd probably be like the best character creator in video games for me. Hell, if the CaC wasn't so ass, I'd have played Jump Force (used) just for that. As far as gameplay goes, the whole "not meant to be competitive excuse is dumb, especially when you remember Smash exists. The problem isn't that these game "aren't competitive", it's that they're poorly designed to the point it's hard to have fun even at a casual level. It really shouldn't be that hard to make something at least competent. As someone who loves KLKIf and the general concept of arena fighters, it sucks seeing so many of them be so mediocre or outright trash.

Xenoverse custom character story is better than jump force, In my opinion. I just hope if we get a another game in anime, bleach but simular to deamon slayer in battle mechanics. A custom character story to feel more immerse and unique combinations, plus with rollback to make online modes playable other than rank.

I personally liked the game for what it was. I'm a super casual other than Hinokami Chronicles and casually this and jump force can both be fun. The cac's were the most in depth we've ever seen and you gotta give respect where it's due, jump force also has a very nice character creator. Hopefully that pirate warriors bug still works cuz I literally just bought PW4, and it's so far feeling much smoother and better than PW3, tho I still love that game almost as much

Ignoring gameplay mechanics there is some in-universe justification. a) Speed itself is dangerous - when you start going into upper mach range of velocity the sonic boom would result in massive collateral damage. The main character CAN travel FTL speeds but that doesn't mean he always should. Regarding the moon jump if he had landed anywhere else besides Boro's ship, it would result in another extinction event. b) Saitama doesn't know precisely where the fight is taking place. Its in character for him to get lost or find where he needs to go. Obviously this is for plot reasons to prevent him from just ending every fight in the series.

Spike can get the art and fan service perfectly. The voices, skills, graphics are good. But the fighting isn’t great. They are not a fighting game studio like cyber connect, so Bandai please get someone else to do the fighting. Have Spike do everything else except the fighting

I don’t even think it was Spike’s decision but Bandai Namco being the license holder and it cost them money. But Bandai should definitely reconsider hiring Spike for arena fighters again.

It probably didn't sell anything because it released around the same time OPM Season 2 was airing, which ended up being so hilariously mid compared to S1, and knocking any and all wind out of the sails that the franchise had. If S2 got the same amount of love, it probably would had sold in droves regardless of game quality.

I thought this game was just purely OK, not terrible but nothing great. Luckily I only paid like, £8 for it with DLC. Might go back to it just to Platinum it so I can uninstall it (only missing lv99 trophy as well and I'm not terribly far from it).
