i remember when i was writing this video they were sending out google surveys asking people what they thought about having characters behind paywalls and stuff so that's why i put it in. They said at gamescom they wouldn't, but again I don't know whether that will change in the future for their game. Overwatch were happy to add characters for free for a while, until they involved in the battlepass into the game. That's why i mention the sceptisim in the video

I love rivals. I played the beta and it's so funny to me how they did almost nothing new, yet the gameplay feels better. There's more individual expression because of how hero kits are designed and I think that's what separates it from overwatch. In many situations in OW where you'd need to counterswap, you can just change your playstyle in rivals. I mained magik during the beta and even though she's the close ranged brawler/dive character, she has a long ranged projectile that can deal fat damage, though it's on a cooldown. I like stuff like that because I'm not helpless when fighting in a situation that extends beyond my character's niche.

Im in my Late 20s and i already have hundreds of hours in the Marvel Rivals beta alone lol. I was a Grand Master rank for Overwatch and played in college tournaments for scholarships. But one thing i like about Marvel Rivals is that theyve already implemented an in-game tournament mode!! So now its very EASY for them to host prize money tournaments like they did for the Alpha and Beta. Also i love how Rivals said all the heroes will be free (and not locked behind a paywall like Overwatch 2 was).

I often find myself baffled by how Overwatch came out, and literally just got worse with each passing update. Like it was so fucking fun, and it they patched out the fun week after week. So many people say "oh you just think it was fun because you're remembering your childhood." Nah man, I swear to god 2016 was the peak of human civilization. I don't think overwatch devs cared back than either, not about what was important anyway, Jeff stated one time that he wanted to make a complex game and make it easier over time. But if you do this than you're changing your balance philosophy and dumbing your game down since the newer heros are all easier stronger heros that not only outdate the old heros but are less fun than the older heros and than they needed to buff the older heros less flexible kits which resulted in heros like zen and ana needing to giga buff their anti nade and discord to a point where they're only playable for those abilities. In short, they screwed up their hero design philosophy, and their skill curve along with it, how do you put a hero into a game like moira who is entirely comprised of auto aim with a cheesy escape that makes her feel fully automated or a hero with invis, and auto aim cc than question why people are mad? And than to put those heros inna game with heros like doomfist or genji, who rely so heavily on mobility and deflecting as they're more melee based, only to have heros with fully automated kits that automated go through your deflect abilities... You compared wanda to moira but the big difference is wanda has an actual aimed projectile to go along with her auto aim rather than more auto aim like moira and instead of an easy bail put ability like fade, wanda has 2 charges for a slower fade like ability that encourages more strategic positioning. And if you go through all the marvel rivals heros you'll see similar themes where it feels like every hero has some form of skill expression, some are easier and some are harder at their skill floors but every hero has a skill ceiling that can be achieved so every hero is allowed to be strong, and that's very important as a foundation because as long as you can shift the power around inna heros you can likley balance them but the issue with moira and sombra is all their abilities suck... what do you shift and where? It's always gonna suck because every aspect of these heros suck and I mean sadly half the dam cast of ow is now like this... I mean remember when torb actually interacted with his turret by collecting scrap? Yea auqa dude in marvel rivals has turrets that he interacts with but torb just tosses it down now and forgets it exists while he goes and spams a choke mindlessly or duals a tank solo 😂

Gotta love it when i post in any other content creator description that the game was better before it went free and we actually were able to get skins with loot boxes. Most call me a gambling advertiser and say that 40 dollar bundles for skins subpar to ow1 events is fair. The irony of it all is that where i live these same bundles cost 1/4 of the minimum monthly salary. Got a inventory full of skins by just grinding for free boxes, in ow 2 all i got are some bad free epic skins from the pass, and the ocasional "we messed up" reward from blizzard.
