Rachel Fishbein, exactly & how ironic, as he LOVED that act when he was helping Ken Starr impeach President Clinton... I truly heard some commenter say, "Well he was young then & is entitled to change his mind..." NO... As a SCOTUS member you don't get to change your mind due to partisan beliefs, and that, is why he will never be confirmed! Peace.

Devoted Legal abortion is not barbaric when it is performed under medical supervision in a medical setting. Barbaric is when we take a humans right away from them, and a medical procedure is performed without medical supervision or in a non-medical setting...........like a bathtub or in a strangers basement who thinks they are qualified for the right price to help.

May I suggest that all those ladies who are the mistresses of republican politicians not only stop using birth control but, when they become pregnant, do NOT have the expected abortion, instead have the baby and loudly proclaim its paternity

@christinad6654

I completely agree. And say take it a step further. I feel like women arent really givng men the opportunity they deserve. Lets have women carry all babies to full term, claim they are not mentally capable to take care of the baby and hand over full custody to the baby daddy... Men will start to change their tune.
@bcpr9812
@bcpr9812 6 жыл бұрын
Uuuhhhhhmmm... but that would mean the women might have to carry to term a child that THEY also do not want. That's asking a lot of emotional and physical labour (literally) from women, just for them to hold onto some basic human rights over their own bodies. So, only the ones who want to keep it and have an actual baby. The others can always provide proof of their abortions. Also, what I would recommend is that they have fetal tissue DNA tested or something, as well as any evidence showing the hypocritical politicians' communications pressuring (or at least in agreement with) the abortion, so they preserve a record confirming paternity. They might not be able to pressure the men to get their DNA tested, too... but the politicians' refusal to do a simple test to prove or disprove their paternity would speak volumes on their guilt. I would LOVE to see all of the past and present mistresses band together and, whether it's a secret child or a secret abortion, loudly proclaim these politicians' hypocrisy all over social and other media (and at live protests)

It's gobsmacking how pro-lifer's are so pro life until the child is actually born and then they abandon it completely. It's almost like they're so miserable in their own lives they want to have more suffering people in the world so they don't feel so alone.
@shingshongshamalama

That's the whole point. It's not about life. The "pro-life" argument is a deflection by the core anti-abortion pushers to change the discussion. What anti-abortionism is REALLY about is punishing women. Getting them out of the workforce as much as possible, burdening them with motherhood against their will. It's also about shame and oppression.

I never thought I would say this, but Tomi Lahren had it right: she once said on The View that the Federal Government shouldn't interfere with a woman's body because that would basically be the definition of Big Government! And yet, Conservative/Republican men are okay with it so long as it allows them to control a woman's body/take away her individual freedom of choice.

That’s just regular hypocrisy from the GOP, the party of "family values.” few things are more destructive to the family - the "bedrock of our nation" - than abortion. Republican men in Congress have made banning legal and safe abortion a cornerstone of their platform, pushing policy that restricts access to the procedure time and time again, as the "sanctity of life" of an unborn fetus is paramount to America's future. That's all well and good - unless said Republican wants the woman he's having an affair with to get an abortion. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@Kidiu
@Kidiu 6 жыл бұрын
Victor Velie Will I be forced to give birth to a child I was not allowed to abort nor even allowed to prevent? Allowing employers to deny contraception limits access to it, which leads to unintended pregnancies. If insurance denies coverage, then that basically leads to forced pregnancies, because the women were not given the choice to prevent the pregnancy in the first place. Abortion and contraception fall in the same ball park, and it’s very much a woman’s right to control her body. How can you force a woman to get pregnant? That is insanely barbaric and dehumanizing. Trump administration would have women be baby-making machines, not allowing women control of their bodies. Wow.

What country? Elected judicial positions tend to end up very badly in the US, professionals have a much better understanding of who they are putting in a position. Should have played more of the soundbite of Kavanaugh talking about wanting to overturn a precedent...he did say Morrison v. That would directly undermine the Russia investigation.

N S , Thanks for your reply. I understand that Roe v Wade can be overturned as that would just be a matter of a supreme court hearing. What I mean is why hasn't the federal government passed laws in support of abortion? When we have Ireland legalising abortion, a country heavily influenced by the Catholic Church. Then the US, that beacon of freedom, stepping back the Middle Ages.

I'm pro-quality life. Unwanted kids don't grow up well. And Trump and his judges won't see it, only like the second or third president after him will see it and somehow be blamed. And while I support adoption, it's a long process and so many people are trying to take kids away from unfit members of their own family, as my experience in family law served. No one really had time or means to adopt from an agency when their family was a wreck. Plus it's one thing to adopt one child from one mother, but whatever lead to that baby is sure to lead to a few more under these circumstances, especially when good birth control is considered sinful. Let's not even go into the women who will die or ruin their bodies again seeking any abortion means. But deep down I sometimes feel death of certain people is the goal under the guise of saving babies not yet born.

What you're talking about is upending the carefully planned structures that have kept our government running for 250 years. If your side does it, then the other side does it, destabilizing government and boosting corruption. The escalation in that direction would lead to dictatorship or civil war. The presidency already has more power than the founders intended, and that was alright when Obama was in office, but now we're seeing just how much damage a single man can do to our country. We should be reigning things in and putting their overhaul to an end, not just creating an overhaul of our own

In overwhelmingly white, Christian communities, birth can become fetishized by way of mantras like “Motherhood is the most important job in the world,” that threaten to turn women into dangerous enemies to their own fetuses. They feel their nation is being emasculated by changes in the social orders related to gender, gender identity, sexuality, race or ethnicity, and white people are facing racial subjugation by being out-reproduced. Their families, culture and social dominance risk being destroyed by darker non-Christians and non-Europeans. Moderate or mainstream conservatives would never frame the issues this way, but their social and economic policies are optimized to ensure that the people who are most disempowered and impoverished are women and minorities. In the U.S., we have the highest rates of maternal mortality in the “developed world.” What this means in practice is black and brown women, those who also experience the greatest wage gaps and most severe inequality, dying.

A bunch of my friends who are girls are pro-life and I can never understand it. Like I know I’m probably the only atheist in Indiana but I thought all women would agree on this as a feminist thing rather than a religious thing. Guess that’s just me though, I’ll be calling all my representatives in Washington if you need me in the meantime😔

They don't understand science at all. They have magical thinking about how the world works. And it's a near statistical certainty they learned it at a young age from their parents.

Just putting this out there as a suggestion for the 2020 democratic presidential ticket, what about Joe Kennedy/Joaquín Castro? I think it would be awesome if Elizabeth Warren was on that ticket but two people from the same state, I'm not sure if that's a good idea. I also think Jeff Merkley (Oregon) would be a good VP pick.

But voting third party or abstaining felt so righteously pure. Bernie fired people up with free college...wish he had bothered to teach them about the SCOTUS. Hate her if you want to, but if you live in the Midwest and didn't vote for Hillary, you defacto voted for Trump.

It's ok if I say, "I wish I saw that smile more often", right?
@zellethee
@zellethee 6 жыл бұрын
I don't understand this. Why not just say "I love your smile" or simply compliment the smile? Why does a compliment require someone's wishes / needs as input?
@ChannelMath
@ChannelMath 6 жыл бұрын
thanks for the input! I guess because it's not a compliment, it's a statement of one's own feelings. But I see your point. Maybe "I like seeing that smile" is more simple to analyze. although I'm pretty sure "I like your hair" and "You have nice hair" are usually taken as synonymous.
@zellethee
@zellethee 6 жыл бұрын
ChannelMath Yeah I think "I like seeing your smile" is more in tune with simply giving a compliment without projecting your expected behavior on another person. Personally it puts me less on the defensive or as though I'm supposed to do something for you because you like it. (Using you generally here.) Additionally, "you should smile more" has a lot of sexist baggage attributed to it at this point, so there's that aspect too.
@ChannelMath

right. "you should" is offensive. I'd respond with "you should shut up more"

I wonder what business would have greater market value: shuttling businesses for women across state lines or security who shoots at the cops chasing said shuttles once they cross the state lines. GUARD #1: "Wait for it, wait for it...HA! You're in Washington now, potato-sucker!!! Eat lead copper!" *blamblamblamblamblamblam* GUARD #2: "You've always wanted to say that, haven't you, Dave?"
