Dayton area is where I live, grew up a bit north of here in Tipp City. Great fishing around that area, but I've never been to the Hocking River or any river over in that part of Ohio. Looks like I'll have to check em out

Good luck on your new chapter. I grew up in Butler county fishing those creeks, one of my favorites was Todd fork in Warren county a tributary of the Little Miami. I am especially happy to see the Miami healthy after all those years of pollution, it’s amazing to me what’s caught there now. Good for you. Do it while you are young. Lived in Ohio my whole life. Minutes from Lake Erie for 40 years, then 20+ outside Canton, but I worked everywhere in Ohio North and East of Meigs/Athens counties. Would love to move back close to Lake Erie, but housing prices are crazy. Especially with room for a boat, or pole barn.

@@thecreekcrawler I found the bridge I was on in Mason, over Turtle Creek. I'm pretty sure the fish were channel kitty's, based on other pics posted on Fishbrain, through that stretch. That creek was LOADED with probably 2'ish lb Kitty's.

@@thecreekcrawler a guy was there catching them on a medium heavy spinning combo, 10lb floro and a size 7 flicker shad. I know most will say not to do that cause of the post catch mortality but he caught 3 that day no problem. Luckily I have and caught mine on a Okuma guide select heavy swimbait rod and a Okuma Citrix 364 reel using a handmade chop style threadfin shad glidebait. Little known “secret” fish the marina if you wanna catch one there loaded around the docks. Hardest fighting fish I’ve ever caught.
