I just bought a 2005 CLK55 Coupe this week. It has keyless start by pressing the start button on the shift lever. I have had a 2003 CLK500 for several years, after getting away from BMW products for awhile, and as I get older, these types of cars are now making more sense to me than say, an E46 M3. I have the quad exhausts and it only has 76,000 miles on the Odo. Looking forward to keeping it for a very long time, as these cars will be practically unattainable for mere mortals in the near future.

I bought a 53 plate CLK 500 recently with 73K 3 owners and full service history not mint, but very good. I'm well happy.

reliability i dont know about that, sadly i own a w209, window broke, 800 bucks, seatbelt broke 600 bucks, now i have this random electrical problem and it makes the car die after a few days, its a draw somewhere, so ass

A very cool car!😎 I enjoy this project car content.👍👍👍 I am not so sure it is the end for the ICE. Porsche and Hyundai are investing in research on synthetic fuels and Mazda have shown there is a lot of life in the ICE. Volvo/Polestar have admitted that their electric car has to do 70+ thousand miles to better their ICE car in terms of Co2 produced. I think synthetic fuels could be much more carbon friendly. Plus the added benefit of all existing ICE cars being converted to run on it and you could utilise existing petrol stations to distribute it.👍 Fingers crossed.😎

Very nice example James. Sad times coming for the petrol head in us. Electric cars are becoming very impressive, unfortunately though, there’s no substitute for the feeling you get from engine and exhaust sounds. Agree with brakes, have AP BBK kit on my golf R with RS29 pads and the stopping power is incredible! At least you still have the characterful scooby, love that boxer sound. Been tempted with the new shape WRX STI as I miss my old Subaru. Think I’ll have to scratch the big engine itch one day before it’s too late!

Great Vid James, thanks for sharing. That Mercedes is something special, you hardly see any let alone in that blue. A shame to see it go I bet but sounds like something exciting is on the horizon 🤔 It’ll be interesting to see how this green agenda works out, there is no question it’s coming but parking the question of how we get the infrastructure to a point, what about electric cars and the tech inside? It’ll be like computers and mobile phones ie no sooner have they left the factory or forecourt (if such a thing exists in 10yrs), they’re obsolete because technology is developing so quickly. Who ever looks at a iPhone 3G now with nostalgia? You mention about worry over super chargers and maintenance on the later 63’s or e92’s today, I wonder what we might consider special now in say a Taycan in 15-20years? Will the specialness or longevity be there in the degree it is now, or are we slowly sleep walking into a land where cars will be as disposable as the other technology we have in our lives?
