I have been twice a day meditator for 36 years. My emotions and thoughts were out of control. At the edge of a mental break down. I took up meditation, I was looking for a way to either turn off my brain, or escape my head. I have found control of both. Tho I still meditate twice a day, I feel as if I am in a continuous state of meditation. If I am at home and have no need to think, I can just shut the chatter off and have perfect quite stillness right where I am. But moreover it's balanced the powers of being. I mean I'm not fighting for control, I know for a fact that I Am the control... That's being that's Knowing. Meditation for me has been the discovery of my personal power not to control or try to control what happens in my life. But rather how, I responded to what happens while living life. If everyone knew what meditating really does for you they would all be meditating...

But how do you meditate? What is the process?
@qbb01
@qbb01 Жыл бұрын
@@shonalichoudhary350 Sit on a chair. Close your eyes. Focus on your breath (maybe focus on the air going in and out of your nostrils). Eventually, your mind will drift to another thought. When you realize your mind has drifted, bring it back to the breath, without anger or judgment. Repeat the process over and over for 20-30 minutes daily. You will notice a difference in just 1 month, I guarantee it. I just hit the 100 hour mark for total hours meditated (meditated 20-30mins on 200-300 days) and I have gone from extreme shyness, panic attacks from talking to people, depression, generalized anxiety disorder and OCD to just being at peace with everything. My focus, reading comprehension and ability to listen to others has seen off the charts improvement. I can talk to new people comfortably and am much more quick-witted and social. The best part: everything feels effortless. It's as if i'm not even trying to listen to someone talking but my brain just does it anyway and comes up with a response. It's been such a cool change. I hope this inspires you to try it!

Now that I've gotten better at meditation, I think there needs to be a change in how it's taught to beginners. The goal in the beginning is not necessarily to shut your mind off. That's almost impossible when you're new to this. So people get discouraged because they think they are doing it wrong. The real practice is ACKNOWLEDGING you are distracted and bring your mind back to your breath. Keep doing this over and over again. It doesn't matter if you have to do it 30 times. The goal is to do this less and less as you get better at it. I was giving up because I thought I had to quiet my mind. No, you just have to learn to FOCUS on a single thing, your breath. The practice is the part where you keep bringing your distracted mind back to the breath. You should have to do this less and less over time. THEN you can work on quieting the mind more. Update: As of today, I've been meditation for 7 weeks straight without missing. Some sessions are good and some are distracting and lack focus. But I can say that it has improved my anxiety and sleep immensely!!! You have to stick with it, whether or not you're "doing it right." Just breathing deeply for 30 min is helpful by itself!! Don't be so hard on yourself. Just keep bringing yourself back to your breath....even if you have to do it 100 times!

At one point in my life i was meditating 2-3 hours per day (broken up into multiple sessions), and as someone who was very neurotic, struggling at work (later to find out I had undiagnosed ADHD) and issues with depression and anxiety, I went from that to not only taking my anxiety and depression, but experiencing feelings of bliss beyond anything I had ever experienced. I definitely have started pursuing my meditation experience again for my spiritual benefit as well. But I highly recommend anyone try it just to live a higher quality life

Hi there, if I may: instead of thinking of "not thinking" when trying to meditate concentrate on your breathing, feel the cold air that you are inhaling, the warm air on your lips when exhaling, your stomach and rib cage moving, .... follow the flow, it is a trick and I hope it will work for you. Also, from watching this video, it seems that you are breathing using your torso when meditating, instead try to send the air that you inhale down to your stomach (your torso should be still), to help with this practice place one of your hand on your stomach. Breathing from the belly slows the heart and lower blood pressure. Wishing you all the best and thank you for this video.

THIS is absolutely amazing, exactly what I wanted to see! Seems like tradicional medicine is not interested in telling people how much real impact meditation can have in their health, I've literally changed my life with meditation, I used to have really bad triggers and anxiety crisis, I would too have a lot if insomnia, and they are all gone after I learned meditating, it took me a few years tho to have complete results. Because I wouldn't have the discipline to keep it that regularly, but I'm happy I could get rid of these problems with no medicine at all, I've seen a lot of people with the same results and for me this is something essencial for us to learn at schools and get education about, for a better quality of life. And I was so curious to know what happens in the brain of someone who meditate exactly through these machines and now this video pops up on my recommendation. It's amazing thank you for that. I feel more motivated to be more disciplinated with my meditations too.

Here is a possible Metta/Loving kindness meditation (imagine or bring to mind that person/those people that you refer to, whether you actually know them or not): May I be safe, may I be happy, may I be healthy, may I be at ease. May you be safe, may you be happy, may you be healthy, may you be at ease. May they be safe, may they be happy, may they be healthy, may they be at ease. May the world be safe, may the world be happy, may the world be healthy, may the world be at ease. To me it makes more sense to say "may X be at ease" rather than "at peace" or "live in peace"... It is because real peace is momentary, it always comes and goes, as anything else, it is impermanent. Whereas "being at ease" is more attainable and sustainable: We can remain calm, aware, and accepting of one's bad moments, for instance. :)

I previously had issues with my sleep which sound a lot like yours...it might just be metabolic, I was over exercising obsessed with cardio, under eating and not getting enough carbs which resulted in several nutritional deficiencies after 6 years etc (thought I was being healthy, felt great in the initial years) unknowingly I was putting my body in a catabolic state which will cause the body to stay awake and alert, as it is meant to. Think about what you are doing and what messages you are sending to your central nervous system via the way you eat, exercise and live...you might be putting your body in survival mode and the body is simply doing what its meant to be doing. I cut back and changed the way I exercise opting for more anabolic promoting activities with ample recovery time, ate more frequent balanced meals, avoided stimulants and recently quit alcohol. It has taken a long time for my body to balance out and recover, I now don't even need to bother with or think about sleep hygiene, I get tired and sleep. I hope this helps, the worst part is not knowing what is happening and how to recover.

I was taught how to meditate in a hospital program. They gave some good advice for how to deal with this: think of your mind as a little puppy. It's going to wander. When you notice you're thinking about something, just be aware of it and bring yourself back to focusing on your breathing. You wouldn't be mad at a little puppy for not staying put, so don't be hard on yourself either. :)

That's bc you're not used to being still, so it is uncomfortable. Once being still becomes normal, then it won't be as uncomfortable. It's about rerouting neuropathways. When people say, "I can't meditate," I always say, that's why you need to! Meditating can just be quiet time or staring at a candle. You can start with 5 minutes, then work your way to 20. It's changed my life and helped me heal PTSD 💖 One thing I guide people to do is focus on your breathing. Inhale for 4 counts, hold for 4 counts and exhale 4 counts. If you have any worries or responsibilities pop up and become aware of it, go back into that breathing pattern until you're relaxed. Then breathe normal. Feel free to follow any thoughts that come up that aren't about worries or responsibilities.

Meditation changes your mind and body. It was practiced in ancient asian cultures to consciously change the mind to your wish. Because of the nature of life, it is very natural that people end up having egoic minds or sense of self. Meditation is the practice to free the person from unhealthy mindset. It can also help you break free from addictions. Basically, you are consciously changing your mind & body. Please do not seek miracles to happen, it is a slow process. It takes years to establish yourself as a meditator - just like it takes years to train your body for fitness.

Sorry, but 6 weeks of meditation will NOT literally change your brain! A bounty of research claims that meditation increases gray matter (preserves aging brains), increases cortical thickness (improves mood), and changes self-control areas in the brain (fights addiction). These studies have not been above reproach, and have been criticized for small sample sizes, inadequate controls, and a failure to be replicated. To address these issues, a well-controlled study of the neurological effect of meditation was recently performed by Kral and colleagues , who found that for short term meditators at least, no structural changes in the brain were demonstrated. The Kral study was unique because it was conducted by true believers in the efficacy of meditation, and admirable that they accepted the fact but did not remark on the implications of their study, which toppled a pillar of the meditation enterprise, that meditation itself could be considered a unique process because of its indirect effects on brain morphology. Of course, they left a final judgement on the neural effects of meditation in abeyance, as they did not consider longer time frames that could indeed demonstrate that meditation builds better brains. Ultimately such a question need not have been answered, as if we conclude that there are no process distinctions between the neuropsychology of relaxation and meditative states, the primary inference would be that relaxation does not build brains, but thinking does, irrespective of whether it is right or wrong. Kral et al. (2022) Absence of structural brain changes from mindfulness-based stress reduction: Two combined randomized controlled trials, Science Advances, 8, 20, 1-10 From Galileo’s Lament and the collapse of the social sciences. Post meditation, you won’t remain so loud and so animated and rather calmer which she claims to be but she isn’t. Problem is that if she is a fake and has been put in to promote mediation, people under going the process might be experiencing and behaving way differently than how it’s portrayed and might quit half way

It works. And a study was done and found that B complex vitamins, iron, and magnesium citrate - when taken at the same time - relax the body and sleep happens.
