Mac n cheese has always been one of my favorite dishes - and I don’t know about you, but I’m NOT giving that comfort up just because I eat plant based - hopefully this video proves you don’t have to. 😊 Who else should I have on the show?? 1. I think vegan pizza needs to be on the list. Get the pizza cheese to actually stretch (hint: tapioca starch). 2. Other ideas: Shawarma, General Tso's Chicken (or other Chinese Takeout favorites), anything pastry (cakes, puff pastry, pies, etc.), fish sushi. 3. I'd love you to figure out vegan matzah ball soup (from my testing, they're either too dense or just fall apart), but that might not have as wide of an appeal as the other things you've veganized. 4. These videos (the cookie one, too, and any others I don't know about), should be added to the "Vegan Substitute Tests" playlist, or be their own playlist. 5. Why didn't you use the vegan cheeses that Sage used? Seems simple enough to use the store-bought cheeses, and I don't know about where you are, but near me Daiya is easier to find than nutritional yeast. 6. Love you! You're so the vegan we need! Pro tip. Never, ever, when making cashew cream/milk for recipes, add all the water in at once. Add a quater cup at a time. It makes the paste so much creamier and more blended. Huge difference!

I totally agree with Sage's owner. I'm not vegan, but I've been incorporating plant based subs and recipes in my life because I feel better when I eat less animal products. I've seen more grocery stores carrying their own brand of cheap vegan food because people want it, which is nice to see!

I'm in the US, so I've seen it at Kroger (or Ralphs), Target, Whole Foods, HEB, and I've ordered it from Amazon Fresh. They seem like they're available in the US, but I'm not sure about internationally. Where are you located?

Thank you for this video. I'm all for making my own vegan mac n' cheese from scratch. I don't care for Daiya or Follow Your Heart cheese. The best vegan cheddar I've found is actually Parmela Creamery Aged Nutcheese. But vegan cheeses are SOOOO expensive, especially compared to regular dairy cheese.... WHY!?

Nice one, definitely made me hungry watching this. To make it even healthier, I substitute about half of the macaroni with cauliflower. for extra taste (burned bits) pan fry the cauliflower. But if you want to keep it simple, just chop it up and boil the cauliflower in the same water as the pasta. Oh and another tip is to put some soy sauce into the cheese sauce, gives it more savoury taste and helps with the colour too.
