Another thing people forget is that SILVER. Using juice will save you SILVER since it requires less attempts to successfully hone. However, there will be a break-even point where the total gold needed for juice will be equal and will greater than just trying to re-hone again. This is where your judgement will come in, should you use a bit more gold for juice but will save silver? Or should you try to save more gold instead?

30%+30% is more like 51% than 60% too. Juicing has that added benefit. 2 60% juices will hone 84% of the time. 4 30% chances will hone 75.99% of the time. The 9s are terminating.

Juice is for the weapon or for the last piece of armor. If you are below 50% and cannot reach 50% with juice then you definitely should save it for the weapon. It sure doesn't feel great sometimes, but rates only get lower and you really don't get a ton of solar protections so it's a good idea to stock up for the key moments.

I honestly just try and save my sanity and juice when I can. Otherwise I just try for a 1-2 tap a day. I hit the honing button and instantly hit the gear transfer button and skip the anxiety screen. I hate the gambling 🎰 part of LOst Ark.

NA West economy is about 600 gold for 95 blue crystals, Mari is marginally cheaper for Grace and Blessing but more expensive for Protections. With the influx of basic materials from events and power pass but relatively low numbers of additional materials I struggled with what to do with my main, he was at 1350 and wanted to get to 1370. I had a lot of the books from the guardian event and I wanted to use them before they expired. Given how cheap/plentiful the basic materials are I figured it would roughly cost me 2,500 gold per attempt had I sourced the additional materials from Mari and about 3,000g from the AH and that would just double the base success chance... which wasn't great. I only had about 25k gold and over 10m silver so I figured I wouldn't get very far trying to max out the juice, even if it took me 10 attempts per upgrade it would still be a lot cheaper in terms of gold if i just went with base rate. I dropped down to just under 19k gold going from 1350 to 1370 and I am back up to 23k selling off all those additional mats that weren't bound. I had burnt through all the event books at around 1360 so even at 10% base hone chance it didn't feel too bad. I pitied 3 upgrades and came close to a few others, but i got a few early successes as well. I think once you take it as an exercise of probability and efficiency and take the emotional rollercoaster out of the success/failures it wasn't a painful experience. I was just watching Netflix on the other monitor and pushing buttons until i ran out of items to upgrade.

It's also important to note that this is only for previously unattempted gear. Once you fail gear 10 times it has double base rate already and juicing mats only provides half benefit. (this is quite common once past +17). So instead of comparing the cost of the Juice (1100 in video) to the cost of the synth (4000 weapon) you're really comparing the 1100 to 4000/2, or 2000. Juicing becomes quite expensive past +15 also but it's pretty much always worth it for the weapon and not really so much for the armor. For instance the +21 to +22 weapon takes 1500 shards, 36 leaps, 800g, and 20-30 oreha and costs in total about 7-8k per attempt. The juicing mats are 36 / 18 / 5, which on current AH prices are almost 7k as well but as someone pointed out 2% on one attempt is better than 1% on 2 attempts though if you've failed 10 times already and have a base rate of 2% its better to not use them.

Also an important note, for the examples I used - 30% twice does quite equal 60%, its actually a bit more complicated then that but I wanted to try to keep things a simple as I could and the way I illustrated the examples is close enough to get the point & the numbers are not that different from the actual math. People more into math/statistics/basic probability know that is not quite exactly how it works though.. :-)

like i said, its more complicated because the 30% 2x also accounts for succeeding the 1st attempt and saving the honing materials not having to do the 2nd attempt, where as 60% once /w juice takes all the materials & juice in 1 go. we could get into the actual math and calculations behind this, people who know me better know I am a math nerd and love this stuff, but its just too much for a youtube video, and the examples in the video are close enough to demonstrate the point.

Ok, so one thing you have to take in consideration is that`s only valid for non bound leapstones, if you are not really buying materials, you don`t really need to spend money on juicing materials. You can do one or two tries per day without spending any money. So that`s mostly how fast you want to upgrade, want to do 2 tries in 1 days for free, or spend 1k gold in juicing mats and do 4 tries in a day.

Your maths are wrong, using honning juicers is not like saving an attempt. The probability of failure of your 60% chance of honning : 40%, meaning success rate is indeed 60% (ez maths lol) The probability of failure of your 30% chance of honning, assuming you got a second one if the the first dis not succeed : 70%x70%=49%, success rate is 51% It is absolutely wrong to say that using material is basically like having another attempt. Mathematically speaking, the lesser the honning chance, the more what you said becomes mathematically true. For exemple at 1% chance of honning, having potentially double attempt means 98.01% chance of failure (99%x99%), and doubling the chances of success using juicers gives 98% chance of failure......there the result is really close. Edit : I didnt take into account the better chance you have on a second attempt. If think it goes from 30% honning chance to 33% meaning the chance of failure of the double attempt (starting at 30% honning chance) is 70%x67%= 46.9%, not 51%

Basically there are two things: 1. Double the chance from 30% to 60% is basically not only one attempt mathematically because rolling two times 3/10 is still far away from the chance of one 6/10 roll. Just in probability calculation. On 13/14 you could also consider using books from the market because they went down in price so hard and a 1/5 to 1/10 chance is almost worth 4-5 tries. Not only one. Rolling 4x with 10% chance is almost as same chance as rolling once with 20%. 2. still it is important to reach 1370 to Start farming bound gr. leapstones (but should not have been a problem because of Grand Prix etc.). But after: Slow down. Get to 1385 and push your alts first for more gold income (or using rest bonus for guardians because small leapstones are a good additional income at the moment). 3. I would not count the leapstones as you should always try only to use leapstones (and sell unbound). Or at least exchange them for leapstones from Marie shop. Same for juice material: Do yourself a favor and only use unbound stuff. There is no reason to hurry for now. 4. Slow down and push your alts first. also wait for all the events coming. At least if you are 1400. I have a 1420 main, a 1370 alt and 4 other on 1340 (+ one boosted to 1325 now). Never spend a cent, sitting on 150k gold and chill my tries only with bound materials. Also not grinding anything. We got so many materials again. And I know a lot of people struggling with gold so hard. So chill with upgrading if you can only afford it. We have enough time for valtan. And even argos is not worth pushing hard from the market.

​@@SevenSieteSeven Yeah I have spend a lot of time ingame till last week. When my last alt reached 1340 most of the "harder" work was done. Then came the battlepass and I pushed one of them to 1370. I do at least my daily chaos and guardians with my main and 1370 alt. Also do leapstone una tasks on them (for the alt the fast ones like island of hope). On the other alts I mostly do chaos dungeons only it let guardians run into rest bonus mostly. If I have the time I do them, but you can save 66% of the time for 33% less reward. After all these recent bonus stuff, boosts etc. I'm slowing down a bit because it feels like that "a lot of work" is not really rewarded at the moment. And I have a passive gold and material income already. Even with the weekly abyssals / guardian raids or buy outs from ships / guild vendor I'm fine with it. But yeah sometimes the game feels like more "work" than fun. I mostly enjoy the weekly abyssals or raids with my guild - so that is the main reason why my alts exists because we are doing them together and most of them have 3-4 1340 alts.

In the market cost of greater honor leapstone is cheaper than 5x honor leapstone. So it is not worth to convert honor to greater honor . If you are 1370 so can't use honor leapstones only greater honor leapstones , then convert only your bound ones, and sell your tradable honor leapstones.

Your math is on point, although not sure it makes much sense if you never buy mats from mari's or the market. Many players are too poor to even use the market or mari's because honing, even with bound mats, consumes all of their gold. They really need to create a way for the average F2P player (note: not a market guru, playing day trading games or someone who had 12 alts early and sold mats on the market) to make more gold. Until then most F2P players (the majority of the player base) will simply lag behind and won't be able to keep up with the whales and / or people who were early to the market with selling mats (when the server was brand new). They need to make it easier to play this game without spending more than a subscription cost per month. The balance is out of whack (for NA / EU markets). You know I just noticed... raiding in this game doesn't drop upgrades... it drops the chance for an upgrade, which you use more resources to actually do your upgrade. Upgrading actually makes you more poor than not upgrading.... Weird. Honestly I sell every tradable item I get my hands on, and I am pretty broke most of the time. When I stop honing my gold balance skyrockets. Also it takes too damn many hours per day to even attempt to keep up with current content. Getting really burned out on this game, and it just came out. Personally I feel like the pace of content release is way too damn fast, and I've been playing like 4 or 5 hours per day. Course I haven't done any whaling, so maybe that's why my experience is so different from the rest. Also I took a more relaxed pace in the beginning, did a lot of horizontal stuff. IDK, man. This game could be a lot more fun. It's not that hard to see how IMO.

If youre getting burned out, take a step back. Theres a rest bonus for a reason. Doing 1 Chaos dungeon 1 Guardian raid a day, cuts half your time but you only go down to 75% loot compared to doing both a day. Its weird to see because i have 5 chars, 1x 1415, 2x 1385, 2x 1340, and i feel perfectly fine. The dailies take me roughly, 30 mins per character. And i play very lazily, and procrastinate alot, so i couldve had 2 if not 3 more characters at 1340. I feel like a majority of the playerbase plays slow and inefficient, and then wants their needs catered too. I mean they literally had to nerf 340/460 abyss dungeons first 2 weeks because people bitched about it being too hard. And this isnt directed at you, since i dont know how you play. You get an extra 1.5% attempt after each fail. Let's say you hone 3 times before you succeed. The first one will give you 1.5% in the second and third attempts, and the second one will give a 1.5% bonus on the third (for a total of 4.5% "total" bonus). Of course, estimating the "value" of those fail attempt bonus is difficult, because it depends on the chance of success itself, which keeps changing after each attempt. It's a recursive function, in a sense. Another thing to take note is that Solar Blessing is a lot more expensive per % chance than Solar Protection and Grace. So a middle-of-the-road option is using only Solar Protection and Solar Grace.

you can go 1400 main then push alts, this will allow you to clear all content with your main and overall farm more materials in the long run with your alts that you have pushed, then when the time valtan comes, maybe try to purchase materials after selling them as I strongly believe prices will go down once more in this month of waiting for valtan. You should also have a shit ton of greater honor leapstones from just dailies.

the amount of the juicing materials needed goes up, but also the amount of materials to hone goes up too. at each bracket (jumping from 24 blessing to 48 blessing max, etc) you have to redo the math, but the weapons save you so much (like 300%) there is no way it is ever not worth using juice mats on mid t3 weps (great honor leapstones)

It will actually cost you more gold to buy juice with the current prices. If you’re saving gold, only use bound juice and books (prioritise weapon for juicing) then sell tradable juices to buy blue stones with gold and everything else from NPC exchanges, crafting fusion and Mari (great honor leapstones and solars). This video is like a shotgun, throws a shit ton of information without accuracy or math.

hitting pity feels even worse when you juice all the hones and still fail though. at the end of the day its just rng. i juice, i dont juice, they fail. the only successful hone or tripod transfer ive had in the last week has been from pity (twice). its important to include cases like this in your analysis, which is why i bring it up. if you juice every hone from +9 to +10 and dont succeed before pity, hitting pity is basically twice as expensive as it would have been with no investment in juice along the way. so if you calculate each roll that fails at ~1200 gold, hitting pity cost you 12,000 gold give or take, if you didnt juice. if you DID juice and still hit pity, that cost you 24,000 gold, for the exact same result. and dont say its not possible, because it has happened to me twice in the last week. haha. i really hate the honing system in lost ark. its frustrating and predatory.

Once you get to 1370(+15), you can no longer hone the gear you currently have. To continue, you need to do 1370 hard mode oreha oculus/preveza or argos to get currencies which you'll exchange for 1340 orange gear from the abyss crafter. You'll gear transfer to these new pieces which will put them at 1370(now +6). To hone these mid t3 pieces, you need great honor leapstones which are equivalent to 5 honor leapstones in the mat exchanger. Of course, its not that bad, your una dailies, chaos dungeon and guardian raids will now reward great honors instead of regular honor leap stones.

Hey there's a massive arbitrage opportunity in EU where you buy green tradables that are listed at 1g, and then convert them to blue version of that and resell, As long as the green tradables buy for 1g, and the blues sell for 7g or higher you make guaranteed profit, On 7g each 100g turns to 106g, on 8g each 100g is 116g.. +16% is huge if you do it daily and start with a couple thousand you'll be rich in a month, Downside is, most often fish are 1g to buy and 8g to sell but there is already 100.000+ for sale, so it can take some time before they start selling.. so list it 3 days to be safe. Also the boring part is that all green fish on eu sell out near instant, so you have to spamm refresh the market untill cheap fish shows up and then quickly buy.. it's not the most fun to do but it's huuuuge easy money.

Basically, 50 green fish are 80 trade powder.. 100 trade powder is 10 blue fish, Let's say you spend 100g to buy 100 stacks of 10 green redfish or pearls, Then you get 1000 fish.. you can sell 20*50 fish for 1600 trade powder total. You buy 16 stacks of blue fish and sell for 7g, 112g. Tax should be 5 or 6g.. meaning you have 106/107g On selling 8g it's 122g with 6 or 7g tax (not sure how it rounds up/down) meaning 115 or 116g For green hunting, they don't often sell for 1g (since no bots) but the blue tradables on hunting are currently 12g.. so whenever you find green hunting drops for 1g you snipe them The only non profitable are the foraging ones I think. Double check= is the any of the blue tradables selling for 7g or higher? Yes, then see if you can snipe the market on 1g fish. Last warning: sometimez when there is 160 fish listed.. and someone snipes 99 just before u buy, when you fill in to buy 99 units it can change the buying price to 2g.. always double check the buying price is 1g before click buy or you will lose out on some profit
