So Rhett and Link probably won't see this, but for anyone else that has tried a small red fruit they thought was a strawberry in their yard--you're half right. What you (and Rhett send Link) probably ate was Potentilla Indica, also known as mock strawberry or Indian Strawberry. And it tastes like cardboard. Edible! But bland. Real wild strawberries are absolutely delightful. They are incredibly sweet and flavorful--like you took store bought strawberries, dipped them in sugar, and gave them a more herbacious flavor. In my neck of the woods, real wild strawberries don't usually grow near clover. It likes somewhat drier, scraggler soils. (I often find them in construction lots in suburban neighborhoods.) And ths very tips of the older leaves are often slightly Orangish red. Tis a seriously S-tier wild edible
