What crossed my mind is the metal roofing... I haven't found a video on that specifically yet if there is one, but it looks like exposed screws, and that could present some issues with water intrusion and screws actually backing out.

I have a set of drawings that are similar to your setup with the garage. My plans also have a closed in breeze way from the house to the garage that subs as a greenhouse. Made mostly of glass for full sun. Great way to have veggies all year round.

It's not the first time that an oopsy happened so as always you backtracked and did what was necessary to fix that oopsy. You both are great at understanding things and when necessary fix them so you can get the outcome you want. Great to see Kenji getting not only what he likes but what is healthy. Hated you had to do all the rework but sometimes we have to stop, take a deep breath and realize it saves us in the long run by sucking it up and fixing our mistakes instead of letting it slide. Another great example of fixing a mistake. You're showing your children that even parents can and do make mistakes and admit it and then correct the problem. Life lessons like this will help your children to be responsible adults. Not afraid to say that they goofed and be able to fix problems. Your world looks almost perfect from this side of the camera. FYI you can also cut metal or tin by turning a regular circular saw blade backwards. It doesn't have to be a metal cutting blade. Blade will not be any good for wood anymore. You guys are doing a great job, with the house and kids!

Created a problem for myself to where I had to disassemble it and start over it wasn't too bad since everything was screwed together, but it did set me back a good bit. Spring is very near and soon another big building project awaits. Time flies by as you have said many times. With regard to you oldest son. He has approximately 200 weeks before he becomes a man. I'm very impressed with your parenting and loving approach. Equipping your son with the tools to build, fix, and create as a future man should not be overlooked. Teach him what you know by involving him in every aspect of the next build. Boys learn by doing and you have a golden opportunity to equip him with many skills in the short time he has left in his childhood. There are no 'Mulligans' when it comes to parenting. Bless you.

Great video ! Just a note ..I met a family in Montana who live rural as you do. They also were aware of the animals that live in their area ( bear, mountain lion). They have a CATAHOULA DOG....which he said was bred to protect against large animals. ( he also had small children and the dog was their companion). The shed looks really good guys! I know it's a bummer having to re-do all that hard work but in the end it looks good and now that it's done correctly it will protect all your hard work in the years to come. As for the endless snowing-it's happening here in Minnesota as well. I've started calling this our Narnia winter.
