Hand Carved Wooden Plate: I’d say the design is a Sun, rather then a Nautical “Compass Rose”, since all the rays are the same length. On a Compass Rose, the cardinal points (N, S, E, W) tend to be longer then the others (Nw, Sw, etc).

Also, the clear glass covered jar is likely Polish cut crystal, could date back to the '80s. Can be used for cookies or fruit salad. I sold a similar one not long ago.

I could not see the painted lamp closely enough, but if you familiarize yourself a bit with old Chinese (and Japanese) painted ceramic you will realize there is a certain "primitive" quality about them... the complete opposite of say, Italian Rennaissance painting style...
