I died laughing when you showed those birds with the clothes pins for beaks and heads ha ha ha I actually know who donated those and the story behind them is that those top pieces broke off and she put those clothes pins on there and used to use them to display cute little notes or recipes, but they were always intended to be funny not a serious diy .She called them her “dorky ducks”.
@cheryldavis87762 ай бұрын
I thought that they really had a DINOSAUR vibe! Just something about the way the clothespins were attached at the heads...🦖 funny!

OMG that is too funny!! I hope you tell her I was like WTH when I saw them haha. Thanks for sharing!
@lesliespradley88972 ай бұрын
@@AllPutTogether oh I absolutely told her! Those birds spawned so many conversations and laughs and her “feelings/reasons “ for why she did that to them after she broke them were hilarious 🤣She would say things like “I broke them and had to save them, They are now my responsibility because no one else will want them, They would feel sad and be under appreciated because no one else would know how majestic they once were” We would respond with things like “ I’m sure they feel so much better now that you stuck clothespins on them but I don’t think majestic is what we would call them now, a once majestic bird to a dodo 🦤 bird.” They were at all the get togethers in some capacity , welcome sign or appetizer tags or inspirational saying holders. She had them for several years and finally let them go. She loved that they made a final appearance. Thank you so much for a final laugh with the dodos 🦤😂🤣

I do NOT want to be rude to anyone! I just have a hard time understanding what people will or will not collect or drop money on. I mean, those studio pottery pieces are OOAK. If someone wants to own beautiful, original art- that is the way to go! I can not resist studio pottery when thrifting! I definitely pick up more than I sale, but you have to pick up what you love, not just what makes money. 🙂

Conversely, those ceramic lidded vessels were beautiful, and they may not be selling that well right now, but the trends change like the wind, and they could be selling like hotcakes tomorrow... I would have picked them up on speculation that THEY WILL SELL WELL down the road. They were so good that I really couldn't have left them behind!

Hi Andi! I believe that if you had the money to invest in all the beautiful pieces of pottery, you should have picked them up. I listened to everything you said about the pieces, and your gut is rarely wrong... it's okay to go against the thought of the current store guy.... the stuff would have sold eventually, would have made a gorgeous, rich display in your booth for very little investment! I guess it comes down to having the space for stock for a rainy day. (I'd have bought them!)

So many people say Waterford is great but I can't even give it away at a flea market. I never buy it for resale any longer. Same with the beautiful pottery casseroles they are big and heavy so many people just don't want them anymore, again I end up stuck with them. That's why you find so many of them at Goodwill.
