That car was 3 years old when WW1 started, 32 years old when Russian composer Rachmaninoff died, 34 years old when WW2 began, 80 years old when the Berlin Wall fell and 108 years old now. That car may not have seen all those things, but it has lived through them and now we are able to look at it and drive it. Crazy

My point was, it's so old that the people who made are all dead, and the car has survived for longer than a century, and a lot happened in the 20th century which people like me (born in 2003) didnt not experience however I am able to experience a car from the 20th century, albeit through a screen.

you do realize that this engine has 4 cylinders, and each piston is about the size of a 5 gallon bucket, right? and that the engine is only running 1000 rpm at 128 mph, right? there is a whole bunch of stuff you know nothing about where this engine is concerned. it is closer to a model 't' than it is a mustang. the ignition timing is determined by the driver for the conditions at the time of operation. there is no 'automatic'. the timing for 30 mph is much different than at 128 mph. 'back pressure' has little to do with this engine. it is big. it is slow. and it needs as much air and fuel as it can get. back pressure isnt conducive to this. the engine wasnt engineered for it, either. and the thrill killer? it would destroy the historical accuracy of this car.

What a Beast of a machine, 1000rpm 128mph on the motorway, ( imagine heading along the motorway and being overtaken by a 100 year car effortlessly passing you 😮😮) today,s cars idle at that speed, yes i imagine the problems at petrol station with the old Fiat belching flames dripping hot oil, they would be glad when he is gone and has not set fire to anything, lol haha. 28ltr 7ltr per pot, think about it, an average big coke bottle is 1.5ltr so 4.6 coke bottles to fill one one cylinder 😮😱😮 most big American V8s are around 7ltr that is only the capacity of ONE cylinder!!😮😱😮 SCARY thing is that chain drive IF it comes OFF at speed the driver would LOOSE a limb!!!!!

@John Ulicky - Passenger cars of the time were somewhat unreliable and prone to have problems fairly regularly. Race cars of the time were not much different from a reliabilty standpoint - that is why they all were 2 passenger machines then - one for the driver, the other for an on board mechanic. The 1932 Alfa Romeo P3 was the first Monoposto (single seater) race car, as improved reliability by then made it unnecessary for an on board mechanic. This obviously contributed to higher speeds, better handling and aerodynamics.

Amazing that the 1907 Fiat GP car was a 16,000 cc 4 cylinder hemi head engine and it produced just a 130 hp, only 4 years prior to the S76! It won the 1907 French GP with Felice Nazzaro at the wheel.

Yeah, I love those nice incandescent headlights and dynamo on my 71 Wolseley. 15mph through mild fog because I'm blind - same road, same conditions, same car and LED sealed beams - 60mph and I can see perfectly. LED brake lights react visibly quicker. Modern tyres have this thing called grip. Or do you feel like driving a T2-603 on crossplys on a wet road? Its called safety. For me and others.
