Good Work

Жыл бұрын

The Good Work Investigative News Team fearlessly delves into why every celebrity alive today has a brand, which is a fact.
Now more than ever it is vital to tell stories that uncover truths about the modern condition, and we can’t do it alone; we’re grateful to Emily Heyward, Nik Sharma, and Kyle Cooke for their assistance with this investigation.
Also Mark Wahlberg’s drip fits will haunt us forever.

Shaq himself probably doesn't even remember what they all are.

Even if Fenty's overall quality is a mixed bag, Rhianna and her team really did push competitors to make more shades in makeup. You're suddenly seeing brands make ultra dark to ultra pale shades that wasn't widely available before Fenty came in. What used to be a "waste of money" for companies became a financial goldmine for new customers.

I think celebrity brands can also benefit hugely from networking effects. If you are a celebrity, you probably have celebrity friends, so it's likely relatively easy to recruit them into being seen using whatever your company product is, and then BAM, it's more desirable because its a trend among celebrities to use that thing.
@hikikomori_3708
@hikikomori_3708 11 ай бұрын
Yeah but they're probably not gonna do it for free if they're your friend or not. Also since every celebrity has a brand a lot of them are going to have competing brands. What happens when your friends Kim Kardashian, Dwayne Johnson and Bryan Cranston all want you to promote their respective tequila brand?

Entertainment is inherently un-scalable as a content-creator, actor/actress, or creative. They can do more shows, be on "better movies" etc but time, and labor contracts, will always be a major limiting factor in scaling their wealth. Products, however, are incredibly more-scalable and can pertain to capital ownership. That's why we see every youtube personality with a t-shirt company and Patreon. However, regarding celebrity products, I think the key question is what product is applicable to celebrities. Successful celebrity brands always are able to tie their product to their influence I.E Kardashians KKW beauty.
