@@brianwideman2342 Not necessarily. Aluminum is very strong for its weight. An aluminum case of the same weight as cast iron will likely be stronger.

Aluminum versus steel is not so much of a concern for me. Now, the quantity of vulnerable unprotected items on the underside is! So far, I have not damaged anything on my 1025r, but that amazes me considering the hazards I subject it to with every use. I remember you bringing this up in a past video, but I was just wondering if there have been any new developments that have appeared recently. Thanks for all the info!
@pyroman60003 жыл бұрын
That's a concern I never would have thought of, before I started haunting youtube's tractorland. Makes sense, though- a tractor not much bigger than a large lawn tractor could have some issues out in "The bush". Not a lot of ground clearance+ lots of extra stuff underneath= ouch!

i really wanted to like john deere because my grandpa had a lot of john deere equipment back when i was a kid but the aluminum transaxle just killed it for me thats precious ballast weight thats being thrown away by using aluminum instead and being down low built into the tractor would also help stability as well if it were steel/cast iron i still liked the video though and appreciate all the details

@@GoodWorksTractors I have a 2017 3038E and have not found any limitations in abilities compared to the R series. Like he said, the R's are simply deluxe versions with more fancy features over an E. Remember: more options mean more money. If you want to do the work without emptying your bank account, an E series will do just fine. Simplicity = less problems. Lastly, I see no practical difference between an aluminum axle and cast iron. Aluminum will be just as durable in normal use, unless you have the need to jump over 12 cars Evel Kneival style.

@GoodWorksTractors3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Yes, independent options are available, however they aren't standard. Command Cut is standard on the 2032r/2038r. I was comparing standard setups. Also, lift height and capacity is exactly the same. 3 point lifts more on the 2025r.

Double thumbs up! I'm just starting to look at sub-compact and compact tractors for my property in Northern Lower Michigan. I've probably watched 15-20 of your videos and others. We have 40 acres with an apple orchard - 50% is hayed (by relatives with their equipment), 30% woods and 20% is apple orchard and homestead (future house/garden - currently barn/driveway/parking/burn pile etc.). Now I just have to break the news on level of investment to my wife! :)

Wondering if I can get R14 or R3 radials that make the width a bit under 60" through my 60" gates on it? Sad to say gates are the decision criteria. It could be an M-1 Abrams tank capability-wise, but if it can't work where it's needed, doesn't work right?

Great video. You are very knowledgeable about these compact tractors. But as you know I’m going to add a little bit to your comparison. John Deere does not make their compact tractor line. They are built by Yanmar in Japan . Yanmar also builds their own tractor line If you ever have a chance to operate a Yanmar tractor, I prefer the Yanmar tractor over the John Deere. Why Deere did not go with a 3 range transmission I will never know. I run Kubota and they have 3 range transmissions, low, medium, high. After owning a tractor with a 3 range transmission I would never ever look at a tractor with a 2 range transmission. Kubota is the only tractor company in the world that builds and engineers their tractors in house. Frame,axles, and transmissions.A John Deere compact tractor is a tractor that is assembled from parts and pieces from Other manufactures. This is why quality control suffers with John Deere, and why things don’t always work right. Be careful and stay safe 😀
@GoodWorksTractors3 жыл бұрын
Perhaps Yanmar used to build certain John Deere models at one point in time, but they don't do so now. If you disagree, then please provide links substantiating that claim. Unless TTWT spent millions of dollars fabricating a movie set in Georgia, then it sure looks like John Deere is building John Deere tractors with parts sourced all over as with any equipment manufacturer. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jmbMipmpg8iZqZo kzbin.info/www/bejne/n2aom6KPgM14m6c Kubota outsources many, many, many parts as does every major machine/heavy equipment/auto/aircraft manufacturer in the world. For many reasons, it's impractical to produce every part themselves. For what it's worth, you're trying to knock John Deere for having their tractors built in Japan while the Kubota Corporation is headquartered in Japan. So, please quit spreading misinformation as it it misleads those who don't know better.

Good video. Judging by the telephone pole shadow migrating across the background like start vs 7:35 mark, i imagine it took a few hours. Thank you for the time😀. I sent this post to Tractor time with Tim after i was curious on a system concept i was thinking about when looking at hydraulic multipliers. I am curious as to what your take on this concept would be pros or cons. Here it is...perhaps a video reply??🤪 Curious. I like this multiplier concept. However, just to play with concepts...just to play. In the push for electric vehicles, as well as hydraulic fluid issues like leaks and injuries from pressure or exposure to skin etc. If the hydraulic system, like rear remotes, would there be more power via electric motors if tractor had an electric generator sending electricity to power implement instead of fluid pressure? It could be easier to regulate. So say one remote is positive and other is negative vs send and receive fluid circuts. Aside from swapping implements or converting them, what do you think the pros and cons of an electric system replacing the hydraulic fluid system? Would it be better or worse? Again not cost of converting or replacing implements. Say a first time buyer just starting out with no previous equipment in hand. Just as a system, traditional hydraulic vs replacing as an all electric based system. Curious on take. Would like to see your take on this.

How is it remotely economical for JD to maintain all these designs? They are so close to each other, does the level of granularity really offer any value? It just makes things confusing for buyers, probably costs an arm and a leg for R&D and marketing, and the customer ends up paying for this.
