Japanese bombers always slap when it comes to dogfighting. The ki-67 otsu has so many 50 cals and the 20mm on it. All of those 50s got HE that just snaps planes and the plane itself is fast and maneuverable and has self sealing tanks so fires go out all the time.

Fun bit of history What is unimaginable in warthunder is what was happening in south east Asia in 1941-1942 The yanks had a good amount of B-17’s and B-25’s there if I recall right. I know they had a good amount of b-17’s, I just don’t remember the other strategic bomber they had was a b-25 or another plane Anyways, aside from being a bomber the B-17 was used in a very interesting role *they actually used it as a chase down plane and gunship* That plane was actually relatively fast, especially in the early war stages. It, unlike in warthunder, was quite the hard nut to crack, so it could take quite the beating And it was quite well armed, especially for a bomber of that time One day a b-17 found a H8k or H6k flying boat. I forget which. They’d hot it and come in from under it. They knew it didn’t have a good shooting angle from there. And they let it rip. The beef lasted almost an hour with both planes getting lit up in the process, but the B-17 was victorious as they forced the Japanese boat plane behemoth to land in the sea. The HK series boat planes were quite well liked by the Japanese. It had long range and could carry a large payload. They stopped using it as a strike plane though after they started losing a stupid amount of them to AA fire Japanese soldiers in the early war in south east Asia were are professionals at a higher standard than all present there. As the cream of the crop from China had been sent south Japanese CAS was so effective that when they came up against a Dutch armored company with only infantry and no AT cannons (it’s a friggin jungle what do you expect 😂) the navy and army strike aircraft managed to whack 20-30 Dutch tankettes, tanks, armored cars and bunkers with bombs and guns. They prevented a route single handedly and Dutch Borneo (Modern day Indonesia) soon fell. The initial general in charge of the Indonesians was magnanimous. Tojo didn’t like him as he wasn’t squeezing the Indonesians dry so he was sacked, sent to Rabaul and a evil bastard was put in that used the Indonesians like slave labor History lesson concluded. Great aiming! I really recommed flying in Simplified Sim controls (centered mouse joystick) at all times in gunship bombers. that way they'll never return to old heading after you stop turning with keyboard. it makes maneuvering in gunner mode soooo much better. H8K2 has much better flaps than K3, so after you rip the floats above 450kph it's just better at lower Br. Ki 67 Otsu is my favourite, shreds fighters especially in Sim
