Hey Jason, great content. Been fishing for about 40 years around the world, but only started taking a boat out (me and my girl) back in 2021, so I feel we're "on the same boat", learning to fish the area and the tackle & techniques associated with it on the boat. There's a lot to learn and it is a great journey. On your videos, they are a great source of info, honest and local (we're out of Lake Park Marina) which makes them really interesting for us. I see you enjoy trolling tremendously, we don't do as much since I am a very avid SPJ angler and the wife loves bottom fishing. Would love to see you try SPJ, you'll get hooked! Keep it up and we'll keep watching!

Thanks for watching and supporting Pedro! Most days I’m trolling I end up in your neck of the woods (Lake Worth area or north of Boyton). My favorite bottom fishing spots are definitely in your area so I get why it’s popular for you and your girl. I do enjoy trolling but SPJ has been on my list of things to learn and a couple times I had a friend lined up that was going to show me (and the viewers) how to get started with SPJ and every time the conditions made us cancel the day. I still want to learn. I went to a seminar earlier this year and learned a lot for never having done it, ha ha. Looks productive and more fun/less labor than vertical jigging, which exhausts me just watching people do it.

@@g2pangler yeah, it's a lot of fun when you get that bite! And especially fighting a nice fish with 20/15lb line makes it really sporty, a few months ago got a 30lb wahoo when I was bringing the jig back... undescribable (and lucky since he was hooked perfectly)! There are days though that you drift and drift, jig and jig, and nothing happens... this is why we always do bottom at the same time and a flat line... keeps things interesting. Juno Ledge in our area tends to be great, a few days ago (Monday) we went out, trolled for 2 hours and nothing (and that may have just been me), when we got to the ledge and started drifting the sonar just lit up! And that was a blast! We ended the day with some nice fish... having said that, the previous week , nothing on bottom or spj, and when on the way back we decided to troll for about 1 hour we got a nice wahoo... Keep posting those videos! Love them!

@@apmramos okay, you got me! I’ll try to get at least one SPJ attempt in by end of year. The first run wahoos take on heavy trolling tackle has to be insane on light SPJ tackle!

@@g2pangler yeah! Give it a try. Get your friend to take you to the right spots under the right conditions and I am certain you'll love it.

Jason, you provide really good content. I enjoy your vids, especially when you show what you are using, how it performed, the depth you had success, and most of all, after the trip where you feel you made mistakes and things you would change looking back on your day. I also fish out of Hillsboro after moving here a year ago, it's not easy.

I really appreciate that feedback and support Michael! Any other details you want me to share or types of content you’d like to see me cover? You’re my target audience of anglers just a little newer to offshore fishing than I am so hoping I can help cut your learning curve a little. Where did you move from?

I think your content stands on its own and it's very good quality, you keep things simple and real like Key West Waterman. My only suggestion would be to get out with some other KZbinrs and have them help boost your channel. The quality is definitely there, just need to figure out how best to use this platform. Cya out there! @@g2pangler

@@michaellotz7875 thanks for those ideas! I am terrible at marketing. There’s probably a KZbin video to help with that, ha ha. What boat do you fish on? I’ll keep an eye out for you.

Great content, stay at it, from one recreational angler to another. Bought a teaser with a daisy chain after seeing you do well with it. Picked up a cuda and dolphin in the first hour. I swap out baits like you, but honestly 80% of my fish are on planer/sea witch/ bonito strip combo and small pink surface feathers, regardless I still play with the spread. Tight lines!
@g2pangler Жыл бұрын
Thanks always for the support Noel! What teaser/daisy chain did you go with? Before the last month I was saying the same thing: “80% of the bites, from highest quality fish, came on the planer rods. Lately I’ve had more success on the shotgun and I think the reason, outside of blind luck, was adding the teaser and putting it even further back out of the prop wash. I do agree with you on high ratio from planers and surface pink feathers. I try to keep at least one new thing in the spread to constantly be trying new stuff. When all lines have been hit multiple times except one, time to change that one loser out, ha ha.

I use a teaser made by Bluewater Candy, it’s a little smaller than the Boone bird your using, I also set the daisy chain at least 10 feet back from the teaser, not sure if that’s more effective, but I’ve seen that set up before.

@@tyleralbertfishing hey Tyler, yes we do a bit of diving. Our 10 year old son just got certified so we’re diving more now. If conditions are good this weekend he’s going to try to catch lobsters with me for the first time. :)

At the end of some fishing videos you’ll find footage from dives from the same day/trip.
